"You are looking at Apple's next iPhone. It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS. We got it. We disassembled it. It's the real thing, and here are all the details.

While Apple may tinker with the final packaging and design of the final phone, it's clear that the features in this lost-and-found next-generation iPhone are drastically new and drastically different from what came before. Here's the detailed list of our findings http://gizmodo.com/5520164/this-is-apples-next-iphone"

Funny, I thought exactly the same thing.  I even went as far as scanning the OP's signature to see if there was a connection...

1) who's gonna be tortured till they jump off a high building?
2) is finder's keepers against the common law or free game?

No theft by finding is though! Dunno about American law, but the could claim they are publicisng the situation to find the owner!

Looks like it got the remote kill pill though. 10-1 on that it was a managed leak, I'm of all people to find it it was the guys from Gizmodo? Please.....

This clears things up on how they got hold of it and they tracked down the guy who lost it.

So, you mean that "Apple Software Engineer named Gray Powell" has lost his job now?

Or maybe not? The best looking Android device to date - the HTC Incredible - was announced in last few days by Verizon - the best 3G network in the U.S. Android as a whole has been really eating into iPhone sales over the last quarter in the U.S.

This noise around the lost iPhone is certainly taking a lot of focus off the new Droid Incredible...

Just a thought.

All I can say is that is the ugliest damn thing I've seen.
It deserved to be left in a bar.

Really? I think it looks great! I like it a lot better than the rounded back versions.
