When you say the sewer guys who do you mean exactly? Or do you mean call up a drainage company?

Probably easier to buy one of these inspection cameras from jaycar and then if client 'drops by' I don't have to explain the hoary drainage guy in his house ;-)

Yeah I mean the drainage/plumber types. After the Chch quakes we had damaged drains and one company came out with a big spooled cam on a sackbarrow, went a long way. I presume they would help, or maybe there are health and safety rules around their use, considering the places they go to. But these guys do callouts during weekends so maybe a last resort backup when all else fails.

Yeah good thought if jay car doesn't have any in stock in Auckland I will try that but I think they will since it is in stock on website and the web orders ship from Auckland.

I can't find them either - their website is a bit crap to be honest.

Put it this way - I had my grubby mitts on one last year when I was pining over wanting to buy one of the wireless recording ones... If your branch has the cameras, then it's possible they'll have an extension or two as well.

edit2: If you really don't have a use for it afterwards, I'd be happy to take it off your hands as a finders fee! (j/k... sorta)

I think that extension is for the $350 'wireless' ? Inspection camera. I could buy both the $99 one and one of the USB cameras as a backup and it would still be cheaper so yeah... Especially since if I don't end up using other USB one I can return it.

No, it's for both - the cameras are from the same manufacturer, and the connectors are interchangeable.

SUCCESS!!!

Thank you to everyone for your input and suggestions because after about 20 minutes of looking (18 of which were spent figuring out how to best operate the inspector in the cabinet I was crammed in on top of a ladder with my head in between two aluminum shelves) I found the missing blue Ethernet cable. So thanks, Jaycar!

I should point out that there was some legit praying involved beforehand, so thank you too, God.

Honestly I was so tired last night but I would not have been able to sleep at all if not for everyone's help.
