I was surprised when I saw no posts here but most people would be at work I guess.

Help desk seems swamped so I won't add another person just saying my internet doesn't work.

Tracert can't get outside of New Zealand and I think its the last stop before any real webservers. 3 hops before timing out to be exact.

I couldn't find any notice on the 2degrees status page so thought this could help someone if like me this was the 2nd place they checked for issues.

No issues here at the moment, but I have had problems with international connections lately.

I have managed to get the fault logged with them. Its gone to chorus which is about as ideal as it can get for a half hour talk with level 1

Hey all,

No known issues at our end, and the NOC have confirmed everything looks OK for them at the moment.

Are you still experiencing issues at all? If so, can you post what city you are in and the type of connection you have, and we'll check it out further

Thanks,

Ralph ^JOB

No, I'm on Fibre in Auckland.  It may well just be that the machine I usually remote into at home is having an issue, so quite likely it's not related to your issue or 2 degrees - I'll have to check when I get home.

@2degreesCare - are you aware of any issue with international connectivity the last week? It was coming and going here. Are you guys using the Service status page for the broadband service when there are issues?

Traceroute getting 3 hops and timing out - sounds a lot like their very active DDoS cut off mechanism in action? You will need to phone their helpdesk to lift the block on international traffic.

Hey, nothing apparent, no. Feel free to PM through some examples and tracerts when it occurs though, more than happy to help look in to it.

Network status does get updated when we have events, so definitely worth keeping an eye on it :)

Have a good weekend all,

Hmm, yesterday I was out all day and tried to access my home subsonic server, but the speeds were abominable (60kb/s). I was on 2degrees HSPDA+ with good signal strength, accessing a 2degrees home fibre 200/200 connection. Other sites worked fine, spotify streamed as flawlessly as ever.

Of course mobile data is generally less reliable than anything else (except satellite I guess), but that was unusual.

I will wait the "24 hours" I am supposed to wait for chorus to get back to me but should I just ask for level 2 or a supervisor if (when) I call them about this?
