I very much doubt Philippines is on the black list. Potentially certain ranges within Philippines, but not the whole country. There are some whole countries that are, but they are countries for which the amount of legitimate traffic is negligible.

What did your girlfriend actually hear when she called the Philippines number?

We using a frizbox and twe check the logs and it says blocked my isp.

When we try and make a call to Philippines it does not ring and it sounds like the phone just make a few beep and that is all. I called 2D and asked why I cannot call Philippines they told me it’s on the blocklistt. I ask if we can take it off but they say they cannot do that.

Sounds like it is being blocked on the Fritz at the dial plan level?

Is there a user interface to modify the dial plan on the FRITZ!Box?

Can you dial other countries?

I have international and premium numbers  blocked  on my one, did it from the 2degrees portal on web site, not the fritz.

It is possible that a range would be barred for fraud reasons but it is very unlikely that an ordinary land or mobile range would be. Typically the kinds of ranges that are barred are those are for IRSF scams, but those require premium rate numbers. Individually or very small ranges would have been temporarily blocked during the wave of scam calls that went around towards the end of last year, but cognisant that such numbers were innocent victims those blocks were short.

TL;DR it is almost certainly not the case that 2degrees actually blocks a normal Philippines number.

HI All, Sounds like it maybe blocked at a carrier level vs. Fritz. I'm away at the moment, however I'll fire off an email to see what the issue maybe.

Nick

Just had a reply back- If you call customer care and request to have this restriction removed then they will be able to help. It's put in place by default to counties know for scams/fair behaviour.

Perhaps there is some confusion at the call centre as to whether it is blocked for mobile or homeline or both.
