Go onto the 2degrees website, you can. Register And get $3, bring over a number and get $5.

Wait, so if you get a 2degrees sim from wherever, you can port your existing number from say Vodafone over to it once you've already got the sim (and perhaps used it with its "default" number)? I was under the impression that to port a number you have to get a "customised" sim.

I rung them this morning and they told me that you will be able to get a number outside the 0220 range but after 9am tomorrow morning when it officially launches

You do not need a special number to change to another 0220 number or to port your non-0220 number. But so far I can not see any way of getting a custom number outside the 0220 range (unless you port an existing number). You need your old SIM card IMEI digits (or equivalent Telecom digits). The only custom number you can pick that I'm aware of is from the 0220 range, which is what I did. My VF number was 0210... so now it is the same number but 0220 which means I've now got 2 number with only 1 digit difference. (There are privacy reasons why I want both.)

You can never have enough Volvos!

I dont think they have stated how long they are around for but from the wording I read somewhere, they are not a permanent thing.  The Magic may be perament but what the magic is isn't.
