OK, I know I failed math more times than I care to mention, but Orcon need to check their figures......... Tongue out

Got an email with the recommended plan I should move to (since their plan changes).

=========================================

We’ve looked at your usage over the last 6 months to find you the best value plan.

You currently use 14.33GB per month on average.

==========================================

I used 14GB ONCE in the past 6 months, all the rest have been pretty much under 10... I worked out my average to be 11GB going from the data on their usage meter. Smile

Anyone else worked out their average compared to what Orcon suggest ? Wink

Im still probably going to upgrade anyway but was interested to see how good their figures were.

It may have something to do with their minimum data count block or your uploads?

I'm blame xpd's maths.  Last time we were out for beers in Wellington he wouldn't pick up any of my tab.  His maths were at flaw then, as they are now... Cool

lol, yeah I get the same thing.

"It really is that simple"

No it aint.

It also thinks I use 31gb on average, when I've only gone over that amount about twice in two years (and only by a couple of gigs)

as for the avg usage i work mine out to be 28.6GB p/m but that is only because a couple of times i did go way over but if you take out those times and look at the totals I can see and avg of 25GB p/m which would be 2GB under my plans data cap of 27GB p/m but still a big difference between their 30+ GB p/m avg and what i get when added together and divided by 12 (1 yr)

They said mine was You currently use 29.3GB per month on average. Not quite that yet. However when I go to Orcon's web site and click on the upgrade link I get

"UPGRADE YOUR ORCON PACKAGE

Sorry, looks like your request is invalid."

Emailed tech support about it but notheing back..

Update: Just did the exercise again with Chrome 8 and it worked fine.  Something in Opera 7 is not playing nice..

Do you think they're including O Zone usage in their average?

I still get an error clicking on the upgrade option. Have tried on three different browsers across two different machines (one a work pc). Whatever. Typical broken orcon. I really can't be bothered with it. I'll just stay on the old plan then.

Just wondering if this has something to do with the latest beta of Flash.  I have a Filehippo.com update advisor which shows when new  items are available and Flash was one that come out several weeks ago..

I use 25GB per month, and they said my average was 9.7GB (oh how I wish). Then again, I have only been with them for like 2 months, so that could explain it...

could be but I did notice things worked fine in IE on the PBT page and I don't seem to have any other problems with flash in Opera anywhere else on the web I just put it down to shoddy web-page coding
