Yes you are safe to continue through the wizard, there is a final step with a 'Submit this order now' type button at the bottom.

I went through the process to upgrading my old plan to a Purple plan today (which is yesterday by now). At no stage could I find an actual total cost displayed! I had to back up to page 2 to add up the parts myself, and then go through the proceeding pages again. Maybe it's just missing when going through the existing customer upgrade path. It would have been nice to have a total at the end as a sanity check before hitting that final order button.

Yeah I also went through the whole process and got the last step and no-where did it tell me the cost.  Thus I wouldn't use it and I'd have to ring up to confirm the cost.  This needs to be fixed up asap.

Also when you click "I'm an existing customer" and login, you shouldn't get the dropbox asking which ISP your currently with or atleast it should default to Orcon.

Matt

Thanks

dan: As a current orcon customer, im really not impressed they have removed all the old customiseable broadband plans, and the pricing, unflexability of their new plans is leaves alot to be desired.

Overall i think its a step back for those not in the LLU areas.

You can still build your own plan using the 'Purple' plan option. From the base plan (which now comes with 500MB of data instead of the old plans 200MB) you can add data bundles (cheaper than the old ones) and upgrade the speed to Max/Max. We have also made the overage more flexible - it was previously $10 per 5GB, it is now $2 per GB.

The Gold and Platinum bundles both offer awesome calling value on top of the broadband with unlimited national (on Gold and Plantinum) and international (on Platinum) calls.

Sorry Duncan, you are totally right, i did not inspect the purple plans close enough, they are very good, once you customise, infact for the same price i was paying,

BEFORE  30GB FS/FS 79.95$ & 10$ Per 5 GB Over  a month, its now
AFTER    50.5GB FS/FS 79.95 a month  & 80cents per GB over

So really im getting another 20.5GB for free changing to purple, nice one Orcon

Cry
Nice to see some people are getting a nice deal with orcon.

Im paying $55 a month for a 20GB cap (going over 3 times = (+$30)) = 35GB with FS/128 for $85 (this is just broadband prices).

Thats just not fair that I pay more and I get less, lots less Frown and im not even in a LLU aria!

How come LLU is cheaper....? doesn't make sense to me...

I was/am moving to slingshot because I thought Orcon didn't have any good prices for broadband, but they do just not for me!! (people with adsl1) :(
