@phrozenpenguin Carryover + Data sharing is a killer feature, had innovation, and I am still annoyed this is grandfathered. I bought my last iPhone directly from Apple because of the fact 2degrees were telling me I had to change my plan. It is a shame that 2degrees have not done anything and it is clear this was basically to try and get more paying devices on their to appeal more for a sale.

Anyway, I can data share to any prepaid mobile even if it doesn't have any credit - I've got a dashcam that has a LTE connection and a prepaid sim with exactly $0 on it that is using my shared data. If I changed to the new plans this suddenly becomes $30 if I still wanted to have it connected on my account (along with everything else I share data to).

I understand (and share!) your frustration - and I did read the whole thread.

But if I move to the $40 plan, should everything operate as my $55 plan (data sharing and carryover) apart from a lower quota, or are there other fishhooks that I should be aware of?

@phrozenpenguin Yep, if you move back then you keep your carryover but just note you can never move back to the $55. To be honest you're better to source your phone elsewhere and stick with your current plan.

Data Sharing is 100% the same on the $40 plan as the $55 plan but less data pee month!

Data can be shared with prepay, yes.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

Thanks for the details all. Yes I would normally buy the handset outright, but for various reasons was looking to do the monthly payments. Not sure which way I will go yet, it is tempting to stick on the $55 plan.
