JoshWright:
Bnonn: I'm the same -- connection is still garbage in Hamilton. I'm not eligible for EUBA either.

Slingshot have told me that the problem should be resolved by Monday night. If it's not, I'm going to have to switch ISP. That's not an ideal option, but I run an online business from home and a lot of my work relies on access to Google Drive and Dropbox. So guess how much my productivity has sucked the last 12 days? Yeah...quite a lot. (Not to mention I can't get FTP access to servers I need quite a lot of the time.)

The only reason I haven't already switched is because of the early disconnection fee. I'd rather not have to fight them on that. I'm not surprised they refused to waive that for you. Respect for customers and fairness in dealing with them is no longer part of the typical ISP's SOP.

That said, if I do have to switch on Tuesday, I won't be paying any penalty fee. Slingshot can't penalize customers for violating a contract when that violation is a result of Slingshot's prior violation. Ie, if they're in violation of the contract by failing to provide the services they agreed to provide, then they haven't got any leg to stand on if I simply ratify their violation by refusing to uphold my end of the contract as well. Now, maybe they've got some ironclad legal verbiage to cover such eventualities, but I'd be willing to bet a small claims court will be less than sympathetic given the circumstances. You can't provide unusable services for two weeks and expect to penalize your customers when they find a new provider out of necessity.

Same with us, I was thinking I would just refuse to pay the termination fee if I needed to change. They also told me that even if I switch providers, I'll still have the same issues because it is BUBA, which I don't really believe. Does anyone know if this would be true?

I switched to Telecom and my google connectivity issues went away.  Not saying gamining or dropbox or other sites with issues will not still have them but my issue has gone

I'm rural and so I laugh in the face of EUBA as its not coming anywhere near my exchange anytime soon.

OT: I'm not great so I get random losing streaks especially if I get whimsical and switch on Single Draft again.

My connection is actually deteriorating. XBL and PSN stores are now inaccessible after 12 noon. Spotify can't log in when before I could get it online in the mornings. Google drive doesn't work and skydrive is slower than my ex putting on makeup. Youtube stutters like me doing a presentation in front of 300 people and anime streaming is a pipe dream. If Slingshot can't explain it by Monday evening, guess its farewell =P. Telecom offers VDSL at my place hahaha.

I feel sorry for all the people having trouble with this still, it made me so mad when It was happening to me. Now I'm enjoying fast internet again and plenty of LoL to feed my addiction. Hope you lads get it fixed and don't have to leave SS.

My connection has been fixed up too. Havn't had any issues and my connection is performing better than ever. I can stream a 720p video for the first time ever too!

So far so good over here, but school isn't out yet. Once all those snot-nosed kids get home and start loading up the internet, we'll see. Usually happens straight after 4 pm...

Well, it started early today, just before 4 pm. So if anything, the problem has gotten worse.

I'm thinking of moving to Snap rather than Telecom. I don't really care too much about price, but Snap seems higher rated in terms of customer service and connection quality. Can anyone comment on that?

My last 5 mins of Slingshot were sadly speeds just over 1.80mbps. Telecom just switched me over and here is what i am getting now with full connectivity to all the services and online games i was not able to get with SS for the past 15 nights

Quite happy with that for a rural connection

In the same situation. This is getting a little silly now. Two weeks without decent connectivity is decidedly unacceptable.

Our speeds are on par with what we normally get, but 2 weeks is just unacceptable. We're still in our contract (2 months to go), so should I just call Slingshot and persuade them to waive the termination fee, because nothing has changed, we're ineligible for EUBA, and it's impacting our productivity quite significantly?

Well, I'll be changing to snap as soon as I can, this is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen a ISP do.

All the sites and other services that are down, are either P2P or some form of downloading. Logically I would say that this is slingshot shaping our internet, maybe to do with the new unlimited no P2P plan they released.
The worst part is their is no mention of this on their site and they even try to tell people that changing ISPs won't solve the problem (It did solve it for everyone I know that changed).

Heres to 2 weeks of staying up to 5am and waking up at 7am to do my uni work because I can't do it when I get home at 4pm.
