Thats some really interesting stuff 2Degrees has introduced with these calling packs

I reckon they should increase the national 3G data packs as well now that they have more coverage through out new zealand

hopefully that change comes around quick enough so customers who live outside the broadband zones can also get the benefits of cheaper data

Pay Monthly this has been the case for a while now as I have been on the plan for since the shared data came out and it has always been National Data for me.

Data Packs are still locked down to there network only according to there mobile broadband pages

Just beware that if you shift from a pay monthly plan to a new carryover minutes plan, you'll lose any carryover minutes you've accumulated.

Shouldn't take long to build them back up though, with the whole monthly allocations being able to roll over on the new plans.

It's been like that for a while now(at least as long as I have been on a pay monthly plan).

Glad I signed up when I did as my current plan would be 250MB less if I signed up now.

350GB less.. The old $39 plan was 100MB of free national data with 1GB free on top for a year (then extended). That's a 30% drop in data.

On the plus side you have 220 minutes that can carry over rather than 120 carryover and 100 bonus that expired every month.

That is if you make phone calls.....

Weird seeing 2degrees putting their prices up for a change (in the case of the $39 plan at least).

That explains something - I downgraded my plan from $89 to $39 online on friday and called in on saturday to confirm that I am still gonna get the 1GB bonus data on the $39 plan (when the plan rolls over on 4th Feb - today) and the person who answered my call confirmed that I was getting the 1GB bonus on top of 100MB which is allocated to $39 plan but was adamant that I was not going to get the accumulated rollover minutes.. (that didnt really matter coz $39 plan still comes with heaps of minutes)

So this was probably their new plans that he was talking about.. Ah well.. I did the plan change 1-2 days earlier and so got to keep my minutes and got the 1GB bonus per month on the $39 plan..

Dont mind the 100 less roll over minutes. I can never hit that 100 bonus minutes as it is right now.

Just a couple of points, customers on the retired Pay Monthly plans will still get their current rates if they go over.

You have more Carryover Minutes in these new plans so there's less likelihood of going over but as always we recommend having Spend Control to make sure you don't go over a set limit.

All data included on Pay Monthly and Carryover plans data is and has always been National Data, that can be used on our canopy or national roaming network.

Hope you like the new Carryover plans!

Why the increase in the international calling rates for the carryover plans..?

And since there is no mention of the pay monthly international rates changes.. does that mean all those on the pay monthly will be getting the old international calling rates...?

This is getting hard now...

I lose all my saved up minutes? I just hit 1400 saved minutes.

(Warning: rant)

Let me start at the beginning: My 6months are up on my grossly underused $89 plan.
So I logged in to my2degrees to change my plan on Saturday (2 Feb) to the old $29 plan, they prompted me to "update my details", good idea (since I'm moving house this week), so I updated my address, and it says "thanks we have updated your details". Sweet, all done.

Today (4 Feb) on my billing day my $89 plan rolled over... strange, maybe it'll change tonight overnight... I logged in and checked the change plan screen, still $89 ok select $29 plan, oh great a second confirm screen that I obviously got bypassed away from because of the edit personal details button!!! Great process flow 2degrees process designers! Damnit!

So I hit confirm: "your plan will be changed 4 march". Come on!
I think: 'damnit! ...oh well, who cares. No hang on, I do, it is $60, and I need the money. So I will ring up".
After some explaining and checking: "I'm sorry sir but I have 'cross-checked' and we cannot update your plan this month because you have already been billed..." (Less than hours ago. And actually I haven't received any bill)
So I'll have to bite it. $60 hurts, but isn't worth the stress, me thinks... big faceless company can have this one...

But no, now you tell me, I will lose my (1400) now 1800 saved up minutes in March too!? Seriously?
I saw absolutely nothing about the terms of the new plans on my change plan process online, neither heard about them from the helpful phone lady.
Yes, I now see them on the main 2degrees website, but only after reading some posts here, and if I wasn't a GZ reader I'd have no clue until I lost my preciouses minuteses next month!

Well I personally don't but that's me. $39 for 120 minutes and 100 bonus was just fine for me and I was struggling with keeping in the 1.1GB of data. 750MB would be even harder and having 220 minutes doesn't really help in that area.

I would hardly ever get into my bonus minutes a month and would normally be carrying over minutes.

At least I get the chance to keep my (grandfathered) plan.

As for international calls I never make them over the voice network so the increases in that area are not an issue.
