Username1: Hi,
I'm considering switching to broadband 250 but I am confused about how much it will cost. When I set my location on the main site, the broadband plan comes up as $60 and $51 for the homeline. However when I log on to my account it tells me that the broadband 250 plan costs $101.
Also I want to cancel the paper bill but can't figure out how to do that online.
Thanks
dusty42: Gidday,
I'm new to Slingshot - former Telstra Cable customer. Brilliant change over so far - it has been incredibly fast.
My problem relates about how to change my router from the old Telstra settings to the new Slingshot. I was on a staticip,
So I plugged in my modem today [the wee Dynalink RTA320v6] and are online. I have to use it direct to desktop - I cannot figure out how the settings on my router to use this modem.
I was thinking I'd slap in the DNS numbers and it'd go. But I'm also a complete rube at this.
Can anyone point me in a useful direction - what obvious thing am I doing wrong here?
jhaywood: Hi Slinshot gurus
I am looking for some advice about my naked 30 plan and performance.
I am generaly happy with the service and performance of my naked plan however I am regurlalry pushing my 30gb cap and really need more data. I am considering the unlimited naked option however I am very concerned that I will lose my current good and failry constant performance of 10-12Mb/s down due to profile changes, traffic management or contention. I seem to remember reading that "unlimited" users have a different profile/traffic management settings to capped users and I would not be happy to reduce my current levels of performance. To me good constant reliable performance is more important than vast amounts of data.
Can Slingshot confirm if my performance will change in any way if I move to the unlimited naked plan.
Thanks

insane:
Enable IP extensions and disable NAT on the RTA1320,
Make sure the router and modem are on different subnets, ie 192.168.0.1 for the modem and 192.168.1.1 for the router, use the Slingshot DNS and you'll have created a half-bridge setup and will be set.

techmeister: Do you only get hooked up to Slingshot gear if you get a phone line?

techmeister: Hi Guys
Wondering if someone from Slingshot could help me here.
My sons recently moved to Hamilton and decided to hook up to Slingshot for their broadband
as here at home the Slingshot connection has been very good.
I checked plans and found the exchange (Hamilton HNE) has been unbundled by Slingshot, pricing confirmed there address is
on the better network, they connected to the naked unlimited plan $90 a month.
The connection only took a couple of days, no issues there.
When I cheched the speed they are only getting 5Mps which I thought for the middle of HAmilton was a bit pathetic
I checked a bit and found that they seem to be hooked up to the exchange, which is good as they should be on the better network
but looking at the stats they are hooked up to Chrous gear.
Their attenuation is 38 and line speed is 8Mps.
Do you only get hooked up to Slingshot gear if you get a phone line?
They do not seem to be in a Chrous cabinet area according to the map.
Surely it must be cheaper for Slingshot to hook people up to their gear if hooked up to the exchange?
Detruire: Has the 200GB plan been dropped again? It doesn't seem to be mentioned on the website anymore.
I don't see it listed in either of the bundles or broadband only sections.
Also, rather worryingly, when I went to see if it was still listed on the change broadband plan page in the "My Account" section, the page didn't list any plans - it just said that my plan change request had been submitted (I haven't submitted a plan change request and don't want to.)
