I note the latency is 8ms - that's a bit high for local server - where is OP located in relation to the server?

Im testing to NOW napier which is local - it gives better result than 2 degrees servers...

I'm not with 2D but Orcon and have an gigabit connection and I also suffer from the same things you're seeing I think our problem is where we are my connection on speed test.net says i'm in Whangarei which is rubbish below is what I get from the local Now test server note it says ~550 miles which means it's gone from napier to whagarei and back to me

I've seen this issue before actually, not sure how to confirm where the location of each hop in the tracert is?

worry about ruling out if your router is the cause of your issue. if you do the direct PPPoE connection to the ONT that will show you 1 of 2 things.

1. you get a speed significantly faster than your router, this means the router is the issue
2. you get the same speed as your router, then the issue is with your ISP/Chorus/Outside your ISP's network.

you have to rule out your router as the issue before i would go any further with your ISP.

Hi Jekkyl.

If you are using a 7340/7390 from us, this will struggle to get past the 500Mbps down mark.

Can you please message us here with your address and customer number, as well as the CWMP from the current device, and we'll see if we can suss something out for you :

Thanks,

Ralph ^JOB

Alright so plugged directly into ONT. Exactly the same result so that rules the Fritz out.

Hey Jekkyl,

Thanks for the PM.

This has now been resolved. What had happened was our automation placed the request against our soon-to-be-decommissioned 1Gbps handover in the area, which has an artificial rate limit in place, rather than on our new handover commissioned for gigabit service with much more capacity. This was changed overnight for you.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks,

Ralph ^JOB
