I noticed no roaming when going to the tron this weekend, normally would see a few patches.

It's an awesome solution and capability being rolled out, not to mention the ability to manage end to end, including more capacity.

Nick.

Is upgrading a site to support MoRAN much of a job? i.e new parts in the cabinet or a simple software upgrade/reconfig ?

It involves installation of our own gear at the site as well as software changes, and core network changes. Less work than an old-school colocation where all you share is the pole and the power feed, but more work than national roaming.

Not sure, but I can probably find out. Doesn't sound like a state secret. Pretty sure it's different to the RCG gear.

In answer to the above question, it's Nokia gear, but a variety of types depending on the site.

Also, should have been about half a dozen sites gone on air last night, mostly centered in the area around Apiti north of Palmy, with a few others east or northwest.

But the real important question that needs answering is - why does everyone in NZ spell it with a small 'o'?

Easy - because of the hyphen between Multi and Operator.
