So today's the day maybe? Being the last business day and all. I'm crossing my fingers anyway.

Perhaps they should use the standard industry answer of "when it's done" rather than giving dates and getting expectations up...

When It's Done:

A manufacturer's/suppliers's non-answer to questions about product/service availability or changes.

This answer allows the manufacturer/supplier to pretend to communicate with their customers without setting themselves any deadlines or revealing how behind schedule the product/service really is.

It also sounds slightly better than "We don't know".

Tongue out

I quite like Blizzard's: http://www.wowwiki.com/Soon

I was told 'probably tomorrow' on Tuesday and am just as disappointed as you we don't have them finalized right now. You can expect FS/FS on our current plans (excluding Snap A), some extra data for Snap Advanced and Snap Naked B.

Maybe Telstra should take note when? Dangling their 25 Mb carrot only to delay it then price it at a completely unrealistic level. And where exactly is their HD service?

I was actually looking for that link, couldn't remember what site it was on.

Valve Time is another great one:

Any word on when the plans will be released? I cannot wait much longer and will end up in a 12month contract with someone else soon.

Are the new plans likely to include either Free NZ traffic or free off peak traffic? or will they just be a GB increase?

Humvee - check Snap's website. All the ADSL broadband plans have been upgraded to FS/FS. I didn't look at the naked plans, but presumably they've been changed as well...

Also are excess charges likely to be reduced to be more inline with slingshots? and is data-banking likely to be available?

one thing that makes slingshots plan appealing is cheap excess charges (50GB for $50) with data banking

Ok there has been a 10gb increase in traffic, but at the end of the day slingshots cheaper excess charges and data banking along with free off peak traffic win the race

Snap can't provide an amazing internet service with award winning customer service and simultaneously be the cheapest. Ragnor has a good diagram for this.

Call our competitors, if you wait more than 17 seconds to speak to a person - then Snap is (on average!) quicker. With some of our competitors you can't get through their Automated Voice/Press 1 then 2 then 6 systems in that time.

As a bonus, due to popular demand Snap will be introducing a 10GB plan, if anyone can think of a name for it (Snap B.5 doesnt work) then I'll find something suitable to say thanks with.

Cheers,
Ralph.

Hi!
This is great that you are working on new plans and I'm sure many people are willing to pay more with snap to get a better quality bandwidth and support. In fact if you are using this extra money to buy slightly more bandwidth that is needed to avoid congestion, then its all good for everyone. I like to be able to use what I'm paying for...

This was not true for every ISP I have used so far. Again thanks to Damager for doing some speed tests to some servers that were primordial for me and my work, I'm a happy snap customer.

But I would like to ask the snap team to not forget loyal $172.95/month customers. I understand that there is some demand for cheap plans ( where some plan tweaking took place) but it would be fair to do something for the rest of us (such as more cap or being able to keep all/some of the unused data for the next month or a backup dialup connection for the same price or some free website space with php and 1 mysql database or even better prices when bundling with your coming VOIP plans... )

Anyway I'm looking forward to see your new plans and especially your new services :)

Thanks

The reason we aren't fond of the data banking method, is similar to Employers pushing Employees to take leave. Slowly our customers would accrue more and more and more data, and then (heavens forbid) all use it all at once. Our current method of billing allows us to easily project how much bandwidth our residential customers will use and make sure we have an adequate supply.

I hope this explains why we aren't too keen on letting 20GB of usage one month flow on to the next - for 1 user it's not too significant, however across our 000's it can add up. We see ourselves as a premium ISP and take measures to make sure this is what our customers experience.

Ralph.

Edit: If you want a backup dial up connection for your BB, PM me :)
