Sorry about the dekay Ahmad; my role has got very busy this month so I haven't had much of a chance to follow up for you. I promise I haven't forgotten about it though!

Hi mate,

I just want to make it entirely clear to you that I've never had an issue with you or several other really amazing staff members at Slingshot.

My annoyance and complaints have always been about Slingshot processes and systems which I have found to be sometimes appalling.

You and a few of your colleagues are truly incredible. More so when you work in a company that outwardly appears to have major system problems. The post above was just for documentation purposes.

Thanks again for all your help!

Just saw this on our bill as well, $20 phone donation last month charged $23.something. Would this be similar?

That would be entirely consistent:

15% x $20 = $3

Update: I still haven't received ANYTHING from Slingshot about this.

We've had the same problem with what appears to be GST charged on roaming.

It's not enough money to be bothered chasing but Slingshot will be losing a customer over it.

GST on roaming is an interesting thing. See http://www.ird.govt.nz/technical-tax/op-statements/os-gst-treatment-telecom-services.html.

This explains it very simply (or maybe not) in the examples .

As far as I know.. GST should be set to 0% when the "place of supply" of the initiation of the call/txt is not NZ (ie the person is Roaming)

My previous employer (Orcon) charges 0% GST on calls/services on their resold Vodafone Service when you are Roaming..

I presume from your statement , Slingshot are charging 15% GST on Roaming Calls/TXT ? I would point them towards the IRD's website regarding it above.

Not just Slingshot who seem to have this problem...

http://www.nbr.co.nz/article/telstraclear-says-sorry-txt-park-overcharging-ck-94723

"A billing error has today been identified where TelstraClear mobile customers using the TXT-a-park service have been over-charged GST."
