Brandonrnz: I was getting 27/9 all the time to Sydney about 3 weeks ago.

Nothing we have changed in that time, might just be the holiday season/school holiday effect.

Hate to bump this but about 3 mins ago my net cut out for about 5 seconds, as it reconnected my ping to orcon.net.nz just went down to 13ms!
About 30 seconds ago it just went back up to 22. dammit.

FireEngine:
BensDaMan: I did have a 3-4ms ping to orcon.net.nz , now It's around 23ms.

I'm really confused by this, 23ms is typical, 3-4ms is unfeasibly quick, I'd expect to maybe get that sat in our AKL office to a core element.....

Proof is in the OP... lol

Random engineering work impact, UFB is best efforts by the LFCs for a reason ;-) can't comment on whether the 13ms was "real" under such circumstances but we aren't going to chase it to get you to 13ms as a norm....switching breaks can introduce a short period of instability in such measurements while traffic settles.
