Working here fine on unotelly and Vodafone vdsl

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

marshalleq: Well it pretty much means one of several things:

1 The southern cross cable has had something 'applied' to it

2 Someone misconfigured something

3 Netflix has a way of 'identifying' NZ'ers as a test for other nations (wouldn't be hard considering how many signed up with .co.nz addresses probably)

If option one, then you really need to join the Internet Party and understand what they're fighting for.

If option 2 it will be fixed

If Option 3 it's the ole cat and mouse game to see if someone works around it.

Probably some others I haven't thought about.

I doubt it is any of those, and it's no reason to promote a fringe political party.  If that's something you want to discuss then I'm sure there are others in the Off Topic forum who'd oblige.

With Vodafone, I've tried unotelly, getflix and unblockus all the same issue. However if you keep trying it will eventually play. 5-6 attempts or more.

As a side note Getflix gives me the best picture ;-)

Frustrating though.

Hi.

I have seen a few discussions about netflix no longer working in nz?

I am with telecom and use unblock us, my email address is @gmail.com (not an nz address)

If it's not working anymore I will cancel my subscriptions as I can't afford to pay for it if I can't use it, it's a luxury for us.

I don't want to race into cancelling it if there is some hope of getting it working.

Does anyone have any ideas/info?

Thanks
Ali

This article from Unotelly was mentioned previously: http://help.unotelly.com/support/solutions/articles/192836-why-do-i-need-to-block-public-dns

Can anyone confirm whether it works? Is so does it work every time?

Cancelling won't refund your money, it will only not renew the subscription when a new month rolls over, so cancel now but resubscribing will cost you more as subscrition fee went up for new customers.

I saw the price had gone up slightly. I'm not expecting a refund. I just don't want to keep paying for nothing.

I was hoping someone might know what the issue is/ have an idea if it is being fixed / know how to get around it or now roughly how long this will go on for.

I am hoping to have a 'movie night' with my daughters on Thursday or Friday next week and would love to have netflix working.

i canceled mine, if it starts working again i might start it again but the only reason i was using it was because it was a good way to find new tv shows to watch (i dont actually own a TV)

ill just go back to torrenting everything

Well, Global Mode with Netflix was about the only reason I stuck with Slingshot rather than moving to Snap, so if this continues I will probably end up jumping ship this year!

I had a couple of hours free last night, so I had a bit of a play.  It seems Netflix Mexico is working and has a very similiar selection to Netflix US.  Although it did have some buffering issues.  Netflix UK seems to be rock solid, and has some hidden gems.  Watched Stephen Fry's Planet Word, and Bill Bailey Jungle Hero.

Worked fine for me yesterday, watched more House of Cards - was fast with no delays or buffering.

Telecom ADSL. UnoTelly. AppleTV. Hope they don't break it.

Similar, but not similar enough for us unfortunately. We're currently working our way through The West Wing, and thats not available.

Will definitely check out the other content it has though, until normal transmission can resume.
