johnr: I have just checked the ques on the Vodafone NZ side going to Telecom NZ / 2Degrees and we are all up to date sitting at Zero

Hence my friends on vodafone have no issues, but 2degrees and telecom... its another story. Maybe the earthquake, but why would I have issues within 2degrees friends of mine but no issues with vodafone? strange. I live in welly btw; I guess SMS shouldn't have been affected here. But then I don't know how sms works nationwide.

I find it interesting that the phone companies have told everyone to use txt rather than calling during the earthquake to conserve resources, even though there are known problems with txt.

Yesterday, network congestion caused a build up of messages. Some queued messages are still stuck and, if you have a message from yesterday still in the queue, it will likely continue to block all messages to you from other 2degrees customers.

Queued messages will be retried tonight when there is less congestion and we are able to push queued messages through. Meanwhile, we will keep trying to find a way to purge the queue more quickly.

To any customer who has been affected, we apologise for the inconvenience.

Last night it took an average of one hour for my friend on vodafone to receive my texts. Thanks for ruining my night...

I would assume that its a 2d fault, considering. How reliable they have become... Intresting how telecom/2d was fine last night.

If you're still experiencing delays please can you PM your 2D number and the number(s) and network you're sending to.

Cheers

I think everyone is still experiencing delays, myself included. Same numbers as before.
