deadlyllama: So, what's the bet this double data+minutes will be extended past the end of January?

Yeah im betting too, either skinny or 2degrees will say its being made permanent and the other will have to follow   Also 2degrees will have to up the data on the pay monthly plans otherwise those people wont be happy

We've upped the Carryover data on the $39 and above plans as well as increased the amount of Carryover Minutes.

Good, the $29 might need to get more data too though

I've tried engaging 2 Degrees on this exact matter (see my earlier posts in this thread) and they appear to be sticking to their guns on this; apparently those of us that frequent this forum are not seen as typical users (ie, we want and use more data). Personally, I think it's bigger than that; there's a fundamental flaw in the relationship between the plans ($19 pre versus the cheaper post-pay plans). As mentioned in that earlier post, as as result of the lack of data onf the $29 plan I'm now piggy-backing off a friend's unused data (just for my iPad) rather than upgrading to the $29 post-paid plan. Net result is 2 Degrees makes less money from me and I save $10 a month!

Has there ever been a Xmas offer like that this from any Telco that has been reduced back to original offerings?

One would hope with 4G rapidly expanding that everyone starts offering 1gb min due to how easy it is to burn data up.

Hi guys.

I am looking at getting this prepaid plan.

Can somebody confirm wether I have until today (31st of January) to join up or do I have until today to use the extra data/minutes etc?

Example, if I join today will I be able to keep 1G of data monthly forever?

The wording seems a bit confusing to me.

Cheers.

Buy it today and you have a month to use it. Buy it tomorrow or when you renew it in a month and the allowances will be half.

No. If you get the pack today you will get 1GB of data which lasts a month. If you get a pack tomorrow it will (probably) be 500 MB.

Im even more confused now!!

So I buy it today, then on the 28th Feb (Or a couple of days later) will it renew with 1G data or drop back down to 500MB?

500 MB and 90 mins.

The allowances were only doubled for December and January.

As it stands the pack is only doubled until 31/1/14. So if you buy a pack now you will get 180 mins and 1GB. When you get your next pack in Feb or later it will be 90 mins and 500 MB.

Reverted to 500mb :(

What about a revolutionary idea like the humble bundle sliders... Allocate a value to minutes, texts and data, and let the customer make their own 'combo'?

Even at 3mins to 10mb I'd trade minutes for data, and others would trade data for minutes. ALL happy and a REAL point o difference?

according to a hidden telecom prepay fine print

"double data on 1.5gb $29 lasts until 31 march"

so if you are gunning for data you get it on telecom for 2 months

I was quietly hoping 2D would extend this offer, due to the competition. Guess I was wrong :(
