"Here at 2degrees we think the only thing better than Christmas - is Christmas twice! So we've doubled the minutes and data in our Carryover Minute Combo until 31st Jan 2014. That's 180 Carryover Minutes and a gig of NZ data, plus unlimited texts - all for nineteen bucks. And better yet, any minutes you don't use in a month will carryover until the next month for up to a year - as long as you have an active Carryover Value Pack. Plus you can use your Combo to call and text both NZ and Aussie numbers (while you are in NZ). So you'll have no problems keeping in touch with friends and family these holidays."

wonder if the others will respond. telecom already has free calling to telecom mobiles and nz landlines til end of january when topping up $20, so will be interesting if they respond.

Skinny already has double minutes on its combo, and with VF you can choose double mins or double data, so its probably a response to one of those (prob voda), but they all have their own different Xmas style offers.

Telecom doing free on-net as you say. Whether that is better than double minutes depends on how you use it I guess.

I'm going to have over 1000 minutes of unused calling by the end of the year at this rate.
Exactly - who needs a plan when $19 combos just get better and better

That's a good point: don't forget that unlike some other combos on the market, the 2degrees minutes carry over. So even after the promotion ends, you're still better off. :-)

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

I'm waiting patiently for 2degrees to launch 4G (should be next year) and to bring Touch2Pay Snapper to the Galaxy S4.
Considered moving to Telecom for 4G but decided not to as when Snapper comes to the GS4 it will be a huge convenience for me. Also heard about Vodafone's NFC payments scheme they plan on launching in the near future. Would love a service like that on 2degrees. Rather annoying how Google Wallet isn't available in NZ.

Any bonus for pay monthly users?

I notice that the $39 plan I got a few months ago doesn't exist any more. It's 750MB data, 120 minutes, 500 text. The latest version seems to be more minutes and data if you're on open term, or $10 more if you're on fixed term.

Don't really care about the minutes (I've racked up 200 and something), but the 1GB of data is a lot more ideal.
Hopefully this isn't revoked and the 1GB lives on beyond the 31st of Jan, we'll wait and see. It would make sense with 4G coming soon.

I really doubt the data cap would go down IF the others raise the cap and it becomes entrenched in our minds ...

still ... I feel for the postpaid people :D

I think when I leave work I'll go on to prepay rather than post pay. These prepay plans are getting better every week..

Yeah, there isnt any reason to be on a postpaid plan unless you are getting a deal for a free phone or something, But even then most of the time its better on prepaid

Remember when the first 2degrees $19 combo came out? 30 mins, 2000 texts and 50mb?
2degrees used to be the only telco to offer anything close to that. Since then all the telcos have suddenly (up to 500mb when Telecom started their $19 deal) and have continued to slowly push things.
If 2degrees never entered the market I doubt this would have ever happened. The market would be nearly identical to 5 years ago.
It's great to see mobile plans become so affordable for the average person.
