Any updates? Still no change for ping to SEA servers in Apex Legends. I'm hoping post Christmas & New Years this can be resolved.

Unsure if it's due to usage on my internet (which is the highest 2degrees plan you can get - so that's highly unlikely), or due to 2degrees; but a new issue has arisen recently as I also get inflated latency (230ms-300ms) to Oregon servers a lot of the time when I normally (and consistently) get around 170ms. This was my compromise due to not being able to queue any SEA servers but the ping is inconsistent and spikes far too high for a few hours so I can't do this either.

The short term fix for 2degree's routing issues to SEA is to pay for an Exitlag subscription. This is the only way I can get 130-150ms on Singapore servers in Apex.

Hi, happy new year. Now we're back into the rhythm of things - are there any updates on this issue? Unfortunately no changes so far. Hoping to hear that some progress is going to be made.

Highly suspect brownout will still be on till next week for 2d

Hi All,

Looks like someone at 2degrees may have worked some peering magic with upstream, I see a drop in latency to Apex Legions in Singapore from ~3am this morning -https://smokeping.thenet.gen.nz/smokeping/smokeping.cgi?target=gaming.apexlegends01

Overall ping is much improved for Singapore. Just now had a match at 180ms which is a little higher than I was expecting but far better than 300. Right after and as of writing, was pinging 250ms. I did a tracert today at about 12am and was reporting 160ms. Regardless, it's much more consistent yet somewhat high, but much better than before. Unfortunately I will still have to use exitlag so to avoid inconsistencies that can screw over a match.

The Apex Singapore server (72.5.161.228) is hosted behind a provider called Internap who (if I'm not mistaken) developed a routing system that selects paths based on real world packet loss and other metrics over and above standard BGP. This could explain why routes and the resulting latency seem to change based on time of day.

You can query their paths through their marketing site: https://www.inap.com/network/performance-ip/demo/
Using this tool it seems depending on time of day they select one of these paths back from Singapore to 2degrees in NZ and since they are so geographically diverse results in large latency swings. Anyway here is output (I have added reverse DNS and location details):

I have the exact same issue as OP regarding the Hong Kong World of Tanks server. It has always been like this for me but my friends on other ISP get much lower ping. Would love an update on whether this is in the road map to be fixed. Otherwise I might consider swapping to someone else sadly.

Have you raised a ticket with 2degrees? What is the IP address/fqdn of the service so 2degrees can investigate if they can do anything to assist with peering/transit providers?
