My Orcon Genius Internet and phone service is down at home.  ADSL sync is up, so my line to the Chorus cabinet is ok, presumably.

Orcon's Tech Support line is also down - "Call cannot be completed at this time" - probably NOT a co-incidence.

Nothing on the Network Status page.

I realise they are probably running round like fleas in a fit trying to fix stuff, but:

a) Updating the status page would be good, and
b) Perhaps an update here?

Ditto for me. genius down call coming in are not being diveretd to voicemail. I am seriously wondering if orcon is up to providing telephon services over ip. Does anyone that is using any other voice over ip system have the number of outages that Orcon seem to have.
My biggest problem is that when they have an outage it never comes back up without a reboot of the router. I dont spen the day checking my router to make sure gthe trelephoen is working. As it does not seem to divert to vocemail there is no record of who attempted to call me during outage and if I dont notice and reboot router then I am out all day/night until I notice.
They need to racially improve gtheri system. Someone suggested that Kordia are restricting money ton Orcon to satisfy government demands on spending restrictions. I dont know if that is correct but sounds reasonable

Hi,
Yeah my Orcon Genius has been down as well.

No internet connectivity but I just see that it is now connected again. Bit of a shambles. I could not get through on Orcons support line as well so I am assuming that they are having massive issues.

Wonder if they will post an update.

Mine has been up and down like a yoyo since the early hours of this morning but it has just come back up now.

Previous to this (with Genius) I was getting the error 'sorry your call cannot be connected at this time due to congestion' when I tried to call my home line from my mobile.

I got the same when I tried to dial Orcon 0800 number from my mobile too.  When I tried to call the Head Office number it said 'sorry you are hearing this message as we have had to evacuate the office'.

Oooh, I wonder why!

Hi guys,
Firstly apologies for the outages this morning.
The team have now resolved the issue, and are continuing to monitor the situation while services restore.
As per Zeon's comment: It was an issue on CRE1 that occurred while doing work in the wee hours of the morning.
If any of you are still having problems, please call the help desk.
Apologies again.
