My workmate is banging her head against the wall trying to get her Orcon home connection sorted out. Currently getting jetstream (like 512k or less) speeds at her house. Has logged multiple faults and keeps getting told different things from different people.

Is anyone from Orcon able to help as this is affecting her ability to VPN to work from home. She has done all the trouble shooting steps that different people have told her to do but still no luck.

1.Is the modem using the latest firmware?
2.What's the modem?
3.Is she using WiFi or ethernet?
4.Where does she live?
5.Report modem stats here
6.Does the house have a master filter installed?

Lives in Mt Eden, shared house with multiple lines in to multiple flats. Chorus tech came out to do some work on another line into a different part of the house and since then speed as been pretty much unusable. Previously it was around 6m down.

Orcon genius is being used, dont have stats sorry. I realise speed can be greatly affected by internal wiring (have had coffeebaron install master splitter for me at my house) but seems strange coincidence.

I guess my point is she has called Orcon multiple times, done everything they asked, been told different stuff by different people and seems to not be able to make any progress using the normal channels hence my post here.

Would be good to have the stats but if Chorus has been around doing maintenance work, yes, coincidences can lead to someone doing something wrong there...

Sorry to hear this, ask your friend if they can flick an email to socialmedia@team.orcon.net.nz with their Orcon username, and ticket number (if they got one) so that we can follow this up for them and find out what's happening.  Thanks!

I have had that happen to me before tech working down the road and sync speed is suddenly half what it used to be aswell as the tech working two houses down same thing happened I'm afraid to have to say it but some of the techs that Chorus employ are nothing but monkeys in overalls best tech I ever had at my place was a guy from england

Yup, Chorus tech came out on Sat and fixed it up...everything working now. I guess Chorus is no different to any company...you have good people and you have bad people.
