According to the email I received

Good news! We wanted you to be among the first to know - as part of the 2degrees mission to "Fight for Fair" we're introducing Carryover Data on all of our Carryover Plans. So now your data will last for a year, not a month.

Sounds good to me!

Brilliant never liked seeing my data disappear if I didn't use it all. Means when I go on holiday I will have a big chunk to use. Thanks 2 degrees

I'm on a legacy plan. I guess this doesn't apply to the legacy plans and just makes the new plans that little bit more tempting.

I'm thinking this will cover the data included with the plan rather than any additional MBB Zone data packs added to it?

Great. Hopefully it happens with prepay packages soon too. I'd love to buy the 12 GB $99 data packs, but expiring after only six months is a deal breaker for me.

yep, sounds pretty good for that. And since it;s national you can still use it when roaming onto vodafone.

I always use my data, but my wife hardly uses any, so now when we go away for a week to the bach we can use her phone as a hotspot and have a few GBs avaiilable to download movies etc to watch whilst we are away.

Just received:

In another New Zealand mobile first, 2degrees today launched Carryover Data which allows Carryover Plan customers to carry over their unused data every month for up to a year.

The company also airs its new campaign dubbed ‘Fight for Fair’ tonight to reiterate its commitment to bringing value to kiwi mobile users. You can view a preview of the television commercial here:

Chief Marketing Officer Malcolm Phillipps says today marks another major milestone in the company’s mission to ensure fairness for all mobile consumers.

“2degrees has always brought real value to New Zealanders through smart innovations like Carryover Minutes, Shared Data and long life Mobile Broadband that mean customers can use their mobile even more. And today we’re delivering another New Zealand first with Carryover Data.

Kiwis are using more data than ever before – in the last year alone, data usage on our network has almost tripled. We also know that our customers need different amounts of data at different times – some months they use more than others. We have always focused on value because technology is no good unless you can afford to use it. Our Carryover data plans mean customers get exactly what they pay for,” he says.

From today, all Carryover Plans will include Carryover Data alongside Carryover Minutes and All You Need Texts on both consumer and Business Plans.

I get 750MB a month, all I use is 30MB by my alarm each month doing that data sharing thing. By the end of a year I'll have around 8.6GB credit. Which is a weeks worth of data at home.

Great ad as always. 2Degrees ads always put a big smile on my face, especially the reference to David Lange's famous nuclear speech :-)
