Welcome to the GeniusGo feature request thread.

We are very keen to hear what features people would like to see in the app.
We have had a few requests already so somewhere that geekzone voice can be heard and we can interact makes a lot of sense.

We  cant guarantee that all requests will make as features in the app but we will read every suggestion and keep a running list in this post of those that will make it.

Please try and keep features to one per post, and use the +1 to vote for a feature rather than duplicate them. I know we will end up with duplicates but the fewer the better.

So please let us know what you think is missing.

Regards

Paul

===Requested Features===

  • Ability to change the ringtone
  • Visual voice mail (display the emails sent by voice mail in the app in some way)
  • Display broadband usage as well as the app usage on mobile data (broadband being your total broadband plan usage from the usage meter)
  • Some way to control which contacts can be shared with Genius Go and which are not
  • Some way to distinguish between Genius Go and Mobile calls in the recent call log of the phone
  • Support for bluetooth headsets
  • Add an option to work on wifi/3g or both
  • Allow pasting a number in the dialer
  • Provide an option to associate a 'landline' number to an app similar to a skype dial out/in number
  • The ability for the app to know when you are currently on a mobile call on your phone so the GeniusGo app doesn't ring
  • Allow for transfer of a call from an app (that is linked to your Genius phone) to the landline

The ability to change ringtones! Currently when your phone is on silent the app still makes noise.. could make for some embarrassing situations.

friendlymonkey: I wish it didn't sync with my address book. There is no way to remove a contact from this app without deleting them from my phones address book.
Would also be good to be able to change ringtones.
Also when the phone is on silent this app still makes noise...cpuld make for some embarrassing moments.

Do you mean you would like to see a way to mark some contacts as not being seen by the app?
For it to function it really needs a set of contacts, but i think you are after more control, correct me if i am wrong.

Ringtones noted.

Not being silent when the phone is set to silent will be a bug.
Can you let me know what hardware, OS version and app version you have installed please?
Can you also detail if its a message or a call that makes the noise?

Thanks

Paul

Hi
It would be really good for me to distinguish between normal phone calls made to my mobile and phone calls coming in via Orcon GeniusGo in the phone log.

On my Galaxy S2 in the standard phone log the GeniusGo calls that I missed are shown and they look like any other call to the mobile. Further the time of those calls seems to be given as the time when internet connection was established later on if the mobile was not online during the call (so they are listed as missed calls with the wrong time).

Kind regards

Yes more control. For example I have some work contacts on my phone who have appeared in the app. I need their numbers on my phone still but would prefer for them not to show up in this app. I don't want them to IM me and see when I'm online.

Running android 4.1.2 on galaxy s3. App version 1.1.
Initially when I got a call my phone was on silent and it still rung. Have just tested again on silent and it didn't make a sound this time. It is still making the notification sound when I start/end a call in the app when the phone is on silent.

I can replicate this, I will update a bug we are tracking to include this detail, the one we already have open is to do with muting an incoming call using the volume button. Currently doesnt work.

Thanks for the detail.

Another request! Would it be possible to monitor data usage for my genius plan ie. See how much monthly data allowance is left. I used to use the old orcon app, but I see this is gone from the play store now.

Voicemail button with alerts for unread voicemail.

visual voicemail would be good too, where you could manage your voicemail ala the original iPhone advert.

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

yes, as in from within your app. (obviously to have native visual voicemail you'd need to be the carrier)

Thanks, ill add that above.
Yes visual voice mail woud require the use of our service and voice mail platform.
Its one of the reasons its not a feature at the moment, but its good to hear others also want it.

Do you see this as being similar to having a Skype Number like this  or an extension to the Home number that can be dialed to go to a particular device?

With transfere did you want to transfere between paid versions, app and pstn, or between free versions? A little further detail would help define that one:)
