Just got this through from +233 this morning:

"Out of NZ data! Please visit 2dm.co.nz/out to find out how to get connected again with on of our 4 NZ data packs."

Thing is, I have 1.3 GB of data left and everything looks fine on the account website.

Anyone else had this?

Two people that I commute with that have 2 Degrees phones both got that message this morning, and they had heaps of data left.

I got it too. They are probably just getting ready to give us unlimited 3G at no extra cost.

Oddly enough I also received an email from Vodafone about my home broadband. I haven't had Vodafone broadband for well over a year... Maybe may 27th is NZ telco clean up month.

We introduced Worry Free Data last night, and the system is sending out some messages to people who shouldn't get them. I'm working on it right now. Sorry. :-(

I think this could really be the only real explanation.  I'm going to be very disappointed in 2 Degrees if this isn't the case.

Hi guys

As SaltyNZ says, lasty night we introduced Worry Free Data to prevent Pay Monthly customers being charged casual rates. Everyone go YAY!!! :)

Unfortunately this caused a text sent out in error to some customers at silly o'clock, sorry about that. :(

More info on Worry Free data coming soon. In the meantime if you want to know your data balance please dial *100*4*3# if you're on Pay Monthly or *100*1# if you're on Prepay.

Cheers
^POB

I'm still getting messages that I'm out of the zone (when physically I'm not) so there's that message being finnicky as well :^)

Then you're going to be very disappointed. Honestly: unlimited 3G? That tends to be ... how shall I put it ... an unmitigated disaster?

This sounds like a separate issue. Where exactly are you?

You may be getting a signal from a cell outside our canopy, even though physically you in one.

not quite on topic, but also a stupid message i keep getting (incorrectly) from 2Degrees...

I'm on $19 prepay, mostly for the unlimited txt and data, currently have over 650mins (carryover) and still get the 'out of credit, txt Y in the next 48 to autotopup' txt after EVERY call I make???

I do keep a minimal balance to avoid 'casual rate' charge blowouts, but with so much calling 'credit' WHY do I need balance reminders????

Note that message is only suppressed for postpay, so if you're prepay, you'll still get it. And, as POB is asking, it depends on exactly where you are. If you're technically in coverage but in an area that is not excluded you could still *actually* be on Vodafone.
