Hi there
I have no connection since last Friday.
The PON light on ONT flashing all the times, called support team on Monday, did some restarts and factory reset didn't work. I can ruled out router issues because it works fine when i took it to my dad's place also has 2d fibre connection.
Saw another post here have the same issue just wandering anyone
from 2Degree can help me out.

Thanks

Hi MrGadget

Chris here from 2D team got hold with me within minutes, problem solved in the afternoon, turned out the same issue as other member SXZ here.

should have posted here earlier instead waiting on the phone for almost two hours to solve nothing.

Cheers

Hiya, just wondering what solved the problem?

Asking because we are all of a sudden experiencing significant internet dropouts with phones, laptops, Chromecasts & TVs and it started this week. I think something may have changed in the required settings in the router level because two Slingshot households with the same ASUS DSL-AC68U router are having same problems. I connected the off-the-box Slingshot router and it seems to be working ok, but we have gotten a bit better speeds with ASUS so have kept using it.

Thanks for any tips!

I don't know much but I'm learning.

Hello,

I'm experiencing the same issue as above. I've been using an ASUS RT-AC58U router for a couple of years, and updated it to a  RT-AX86S a couple of months ago. The last week or so I haven't had an internet connection (I've also been away, so just trying to resolve it now). With the AX86S it says the PPOE can't connect, and on the old AC58U it may connect for a few seconds, and disconnect again. So before calling anyone I pulled out the Fritzbox and it connects no problem.

Ok, I've changed no settings on the ASUS ones - why will they suddenly not connect?

My internet is now working - when I connected the Fritzbox up it connected no problem. After I switched back to the ASUS router, it also worked fine. I have since changed the setting from PPPoE to Automatic IP, so it can choose the most appropriate way to connect. I'm not sure entirely which action fixed it, but maybe it'll be useful for someone else who comes across this topic!

Thanks for the heads-up! Sounds promising :)
I'll definitely try it when I get back home from overseas!

My guess is you got moved from the 'legacy' 2degrees (snap) which uses PPPoE to the new Vocus side, which uses DCHP instead. This is because of the 2degrees and Orcon merger. Apparently you should've got an email stating that the change has happened on your connection

Looks like I was moved over to the new BNG last night/this morning as well.

I'm finding that speeds are way worse than what they were on my old PPPoE connection after migrating my router to use the new connection type as well...

Side-note: My old Snap DNS servers are not reachable via new DHCP connection anymore (breaking PiHole). Looks like DNS servers issued by DHCP are now in 100.95.255.xxx range.

Edit: Anyone got IPv6 working with the new config - I cant seem to get mine to run again after moving. I seem to be delegated a /56 but I cant get any return traffic on v6 addresses :/

I have also noticed this and just came here to see if there's anything about it. Speed much lower than it was yesterday (pre change), and latency is all over the place tonight too. Anyone know why?

Speeds and pings are way better this morning from WLG BNG on 2D.

Also got IPv6 working - DHCPv6 client wasnt in rapid commit mode 🤦‍♂️...

Still only getting around 400mbps this morning. Ping is better but assuming it will spike again at peak times. Do you think IPv6 is less congested?

I had the same problem on Thur after it changed over.

Reset up the login with these 2d settings and is now working ok.

Note no login or password used.

If you have a Fibre connection, use these settings:

  • WAN Connection Type: DHCP (Automatic IP/Dynamic IP/IP over Ethernet)
  • 802.1Q: Enabled
  • VLAN ID (802.1Q): 10
  • 802.1P (Priority): 0
  • IP Version: IPv4 or IPv6
  • MTU Size: 1492 or 1500
  • NAT: Enabled
  • NAT: Enabled
