Hello,

Is 2degrees going to release an auto renew data pack option?
I just got myself a new iToy but after downloading 100mb (without realising it) I didn't get the text till I was at 130mb and another $50 auto top up later...

I see - makes sense...

I might have to turn off auto top up which I LOVE BTW to stop this from happening again. From the lack of reply it is obvious the casual rate has been set to 50c/mb to catch out the unlucky sods who run out of their data plan...

You should be able to limit your pain a bit by txting the word "lock" to 233. This should at least stop you from running over the limit of your national data pack and into the 50c/MB data usage. To later reactivate expensive data, txt "unlock" to 233.

Hope this helps.

Just be aware that that only stops 50c/MB while in a national zone, not in broadband zones.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the overage within the broadband zone only 10c/MB if you run over the cap of your data pack, but are still within the 30 days since you bought it? To me it looks as if to avoid 50c/MB within the broadband zone you just need to set yourself a reminder to buy a data pack every 30 days (or 60 or 90 depending on the pack). While an auto-renew would be nice, with this in mind it's not such a big deal.

Overage is 10c/MB if you bought a broadband pack. If you only bought a 50MB pack, it's still 50c/MB.
