Hi Guys

The issue was to do with some shapers we had on our BNG's to support the Chorus implementation of the UFB services.

They didn't work too well with UFF/Enable. This should be resolved for all UFF/Enable customers now.

If there are still issues please let us know, so we can make sure you are on the right profiles.

There doesn't seem to be a duplex issue that we can see. We got ONT's checked and we saw they were all auto-negging at 100/full as expected.

You mention "so we can make sure you are on the right profile". Are all UFB customers not set up the same way? I would have thought consistency was key here?

Not to carry on moaning but our UFB experience has been disappointing. We've had it around 6 months now and still have speed issues. It settled down for 2 or months but recently its been rubbish again. I have to reset the Genius at least once a day - sometime up to 5/6 times a day when its really bad.

As per MadEngineers post I tried pulling the network cable out between the ONT/Genius and bamm! speed was great again.

Ive now borrowed a gigabit switch from work which Im going to try in between the ONT and Genius to see if that solves the issue.

All the UFB customers are setup the same, based on which LFC you have been provisioned on, as we have different profiles for each LFC (Chorus, Enable, UFF, Northpower) - as their networks all work differently (yet it was a TCF standard - go figure!)

Same here, I chucked a gigabit switch in between the ONT and Genius. I can see the lights flashing but made little difference so far - I still had to reset the Genius once last night.

Speeds were crawling along at 6-9mpbs (from Whitby to Citylink in Wellington) between 7:30 and 8:30. I put this down to peak time.

Im going to keep it like that over the weekend and see how we go.

An update on this issue... things are humming along nicely now. I have replaced the Genius with my Fortigate for good and have not looked back. Speeds are great (except Torrent) and getting 80-100MBit most of the time.
