Anyone else had recordings start when the program isn't even on - or EPG conflicts because unscheduled events are happening? More and more in the last few days?

Or why the recording indicator lights are flashing madly during a recording for no reason ?

I have dishtv equipment and find that I occasionally get random recordings or correct ones with the wrong title. Choice tv is by far the worst. It will record the first showing of a program fine but often when it is repeated later in the day the recording starts then just won't stop. its not unusual to come home and find the box has been recording for 6 or 7 hours.

Yes, Had massive issues with the daylight savings changes.

Still having some issues...thinking about returning it to the shop actually.

Ended up deleting all programmes to be recorded and reprogramming them in.

Ellen today at 4-5 oclock. Set on EPG. Recorded something completely different at 11 oclock.

Waiting to see what happens later.

Seems only reliable way to record is manual settings and NOT via EPG. Hardly a day goes by without it doing something weird or wrong.

Least its not only us. Why doesn't some bugger fix it - it must be wrong time cues being sent - is that run by Freeview? Just as well it's free!

Seems I replied too soon.
Just tried to watch 3 programs I set to record (Panasonic BWT720) last night and found they all recorded at the wrong times today, 16 hours after they were supposed to record.
Checked them under timer recording and they were all set for series record but the times were 16 hours in error. The time error was only for programs on TV ONE. All other channels recorded at correct times.
Have deleted them and reprogrammed for next week and they all show the correct times now. Will see what happens then.
Definitely seems to be a Freeview problem.

I've been having issues since daylight savings ended, and so has my friend and we both have Panasonic recorders but different models. It only seems to affect tvnz programming, everything else records at the correct time.

Had a program set to record tonight only for it to decide to record it an hour later. Checked my other set programs and next Wednesday nights programs are now all showing Thursday morning as the record times. Something really screwed up with the EPG.

I've done a re-tune and re-added all my recordings, unplugged the unit but it hasn't fixed it.

Very frustrating.

Glad it's not just me! It may also be just TVNZ. Anything important now is set manually, not via the EPG. This ensures you get the end of the programme as well. Recording one hour later is a common bug - supposedly if you miss something (why?) it records an hour later on the plus1 channels.

This might be a good thing is it didn't muck up anything else scheduled an hour later. But it does.

I'd be interested to know if this limited to certain regions of the country or the whole of NZ.
A colleague said he had heard about some freeview update for the south island so not sure if that is related.

Oh yay, so glad to see I'm not alone. This has been happening to me since daylight saving ended and I'm really getting pissed off with it.
I am in Christchurch and it is mostly happening on TV2 and a couple of times TV1.
I have tried deleting everything and reprogramming - it was ok for one recording then went crazy again.
Will really be keen to find out the problem and how to fix it if anyone has any clues?

Still having issues here and I live in kapiti.

main issue is that everything I set to record on TV1 actually records on plusTV1 which is one hour later.

If it doesnt come right soon I will return the Panasonic to the retailer.

I had Ellen set for 4.30ish but it didn't record until 6pm, still calling itself Ellen even though it TV1 news (which wasn't flagged to record at all).

MKR was via EPG and changed to record about 10.30 tonight.

I also had to resolve all the overlaps it created !

These are just the ones I remember.
Thank you bloody Panasonic !!! Or is it the EPG and Freeview?

BTW the one hour later thing (so Panasonic say) is a clever feature so you never miss anything. Instead everything's so mucked up, you miss everything.

I have a Panasonic MHEG-4 recorder and it always seems to get confused around daylight savings time, but I haven't missed out on recordings, it simply records extra. This happens for shows that are set to record before midnight and finish sometime after midnight. It will do an extra recording one day earlier but still won't miss out on the actual recording. This error can be sorted out but not until daylight savings changever has passed. Simply go edit the timer for the appropriate program and then save it without changing anything. I THINK that works but its a minor issue.

If the issue was freeview wouldnt it affect all PVR's and not just Panasonic!!

Someone may be able to help me....mine is Panasonic DMR-BWT720 and if the unit is recording 2 programs I cannot watch a third. I was assured it could do this when I purchased it from harveys. If recording 2 channels I can only watch one of those 2.

It also seems that Mondays are the worst for recording.

Your recorder allows you to record 2 shows and watch one of them... or, if you want, watch a DVD / something previously recorded on the HDD. You CAN, loop the aerial out through the recorder, into the TV, then switch to the TV's tuner and watch a 3rd channel while recording two channels that way...

Rusty I think it's more complex than that. DS changed some time ago and hardly a day goes by without a problem !

Matt the recorder has 2 tuners. Probably what they meant is you'd watch any third programme on your TV. Don't know about non-Panasonic recorders... whether they're OK or not.
