I was bored.. and reading RSM.. as you do. And stumbled accross this.

It seems they are jiggling the current band usage of freeview from May and will effect anyone outside Auckland with a non certified (or self updating) box

Will likely poke your planned PVR recordings too :)

Odd - I was jut fiddling with the TV and found a couple of new channels. (freeview HD in Auckland)
They dont show in the normal menu (guide) - but if you press the info button and scroll up thru the channels there is shinetv and a korean channel - The info for the programs says test and an 09 phone number - I wonder how long they will stay

Shows as
channel 25 Shinetv
40 SCTV - showing arirang (Korean TV in English)
41 V1
42 V2
43 V3
44 V4 These are all the same as SCTV - Info Shows as "Engineering test - Contact Voice TV"
45 V5 (CH50 706.00MHz)
46 V6

Hmm, interesting. Nothing here in the sunny Manawatu (Wharite). I tried all 3 current frequencies plus the 2 spares and the 3 after-transition frequencies but I get nothing...

no voicetv(the korean channel) or shine down here in Christchurch Mind you these channels are already on our analogue signal
