They managed to make a good remote but the PVR is just a mishmash of crap firmware cobbled together by an Indian sweat shop.
P.S. Reminds me to deposit in the red bin for collection on Friday.
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.
Found a glitch with the recording settings. Revisiting "Game of Thrones" on Prime I'm recording it because it's on late.
I lost a big chunk of a recent episode because the previous prog. had drastically overrun it's scheduled time. I tried last weekend to prevent this happening again by selecting Single Timer Record and extending the Stop Time by a very big margin (more than enough to include the following episode and overrun). But what got recorded was the usual preset timing and only the opening credits of the following episode.
Lesson learned, I'll just have to revert to Series Recording and hope the program schedulers do better in the future.
PS I'm hoping that Series 3 onwards will be be made available for free (Like 1 &2).
You can also set the recording manually, rather than through the guide. That way, you have complete control of what gets recorded and for how long. I use this to set a regular recording of a particular news program, which doesn't have a series link.
I have found that sometimes, setting a series link, the recorder will record the show twice. Once on say, TV3 & then on TV3 +1, on the same day.
I get around that by setting a manual recording. I think it is to do with sloppy coding by the 'Guide' people.
I am currently having a problem with recording Newshup At 6.00 on TV3.
Two nights in a row it has not recorded this programme. But tonight decided to record it at 7.00pm on TV3+1.
This is despite the fact that at 5.50pm I checked and the recording was set ready to go at 6.00.
The messages I recieve are of no help in diagnosing this problem.
Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this problem.
Maybe it is not just my problem and others are having the issue also.
larknz: I am having a similar problem with series link on TV1. It records the first program correctly and then most subsequent programs are on +1. It used to do this occasionally, but now it seems to be pretty well every day.
I have had the series link issue, but this is not it. There is a definite error message occurring, but it is of no help as I looked through all the possible reasons it could occur.

Post the error message.

I had this the other day too with 6 o clock Newshub. I deleted the recording, switched off, unplugged from the wall, repowered and reset the recording.
I don't know if the unplugging bit is just voodoo but it's working fine now.
The other thing I've suspected is that if I do anything with the recorder in the first couple of minutes of recording, that can make a recording fail. I can understand how that might happen if it momentarily has its hands too full. Maybe it's just more voodoo...
When this has happened before we discovered that the TVNZ site will let you watch the live news from the beginning while it's still running, and you can skip the ads too!
Interests: HTPC, Web App authoring.
The random recording on +1 channels for series recording has been a problem for as long as we have owned a Panasonic recorder. Also, a minor change in how the series is set up in the guide seems to stop it recording - e.g. One News at the beginning of each year. Can't say I've ever noticed any sort of error message though.

So it worked tonight. I assume that "the problem" has gone away.
