Suggestion

freeviewNZ-EPG-GBPVR.exe is automatically loaded into the taskbar or minimised or as a tempoary process so that it doesn't steal focus

(or)

Add -hide -quiet command line option that does the above

also any news on chinese epg, it's available

here - http://download.xmltv.co.nz/?archive=none&icons=large&links=local&provider=freeview&channels=FV-chinesetv8

or here - http://listings.tvnz.co.nz/freeview/chinesetv8_7days.xml

The first link seems to have a better format, however it lacks a few things

<programme channel="FV-chinesetv8" start="20090610230000" stop="20090611000000">
    <title>TVBS-News</title>
</programme>

Every programme entry needs to have additional tags, so each entry would need the following bit added

<programme channel="FV-chinesetv8" start="20090610230000" stop="20090611000000">
    <title>TVBS-News</title>
    <desc>No Description Available</desc>
    <category>tvshow</category>
    <category>Special News/Entertainment</category>
    <rating system="SKY-NZ">
      <value>G</value>
    </rating>

</programme>

Otherwise it wont display in mediaportal

Hi Thanks for this great prog.

I am using it with Media Portal - and it mostly works great.
I have setup to import all channels using -all

However I have found that a lot of the Prime programs are duplicated
I checked the xml file and it seems that many of the Prime programs are listed in there twice.

This results in them showing in the TV guide twice. (The first entry has the start and end time being the same.) This mucks up the recording.

Any chance of a fix?

Cheers

This is an issue with the xml source (not in my control). is this an on going problem or a once off? if its once off its possible it will be corrected shortly

I think possibly an ongoing problem. I'd always wondered why some programs turned up as duplicates, and this probably explains why.

The data is used by a lot of people and problems are usually noticed quickly. I've not seen any duplicates, if you have an extract of the data showing a problem it would be interesting to see.

Actually, assuming programs recording twice (and with subtly different program descriptions: eg one Boston Legal with an episode title and the other not) means a duplicate, then it was a bit of a problem for TV3 a while back, but that seems to have resolved, and now I only notice this occasionally happening on Prime. So I end up with 2 copies of the same program, and worst with Prime is that it hogs both tuners (whereas with digital channels, it just makes two copies from the same tuner).

I haven't heard any reports from other users. Perhaps its the program you're using. Post an excerpt showing the duplicates.

I have this problem also, and it was reported last year on this forum by someone else, but I think it was disregarded (incorrectly) as a MediaPortal problem as the developer didn't use MP and no one else had reported it.  Perhaps the other applications ignore a 2nd entry for the same time on the same channel so you don't get to see it.

But I usually notice at least one program every night on Prime appears twice.  It's not really noticeable in the MediaPortal TV Guide until you select the show to record, and it shows the duplicate items starting at the same time on the same channel.  Selecting one to record automatically selects the other, so you end up with 2 recordings.

I've just been putting up with it over the last 9 months since using MP.

I think I may of noticed this problem too. Occasionally if i record something i get two copies, one copy correctly labelled and the other copy is labelled as a manual recording.

see my post below where I've changed the code so the tags are visible.

I used GB-PVR and mentalinc's tool. Freeview-all.xml.gz came in at 7:24 this morning. I looked at my pending recordings for two copies of a show. Prime was fine this week (I have had 2-3 copies of some prime shows trying to record). The one I noticed was Wednesday's daily show.

There is this entry about 1/5th of the way through:
[programme start="20090701230000 +1200" stop="20090701233000 +1200" channel="c4.sky.co.nz">
[title lang="eng">The Daily Show[/title>
[desc>Hot off the satellite The Daily Show with Jon Stewart takes a reality-based, satirical look at news, trends, pop culture, current events, politics, sports and entertainment.[/desc>
[category>tvshow[/category>
[category>Reality[/category>
[rating system="SKY-NZ">
[value>PG[/value>
[/rating>
[/programme>

and then, right near the very end of the file (and out of sequence with the dates of the rest of the daily show)
[programme start="20090701230000 +1200" stop="20090701233000 +1200" channel="c4.freeviewnz.tv">
[title lang="eng">The Daily Show[/title>
[desc>Hot off the satellite The Daily Show with Jon Stewart takes a reality-based, satirical look at news, trends, pop culture, current events, politics, sports and entertainment.[/desc>
[category>tvshow[/category>
[category>General Show[/category>
[/programme>

I note that the first one has a sky tag.
Identical pattern with Futurama, also for Wednesday.

UPDATE: Just tried to break the tags so that the code is visible.
