Do the following: 1 Open TV Server config 2 Select TV Channels and select a channel 3 in the top left corner of TV Serve config opne the log files folder 4 delete all files in the folder 5 Come back to TV Server config and click preview on the channel 6 attach the resulting log files to and email (mcraenz@gmail.com)

Even more progress, I replaced my elitegroup sh?tter agp card with a Radeon 9800 PRO from my sons old gamer box and loaded the latest drivers to it. When I started Media Portal and clicked on Channel the normally (for me anyway) blank screen was showing adverts from TV3.
Next job is to get it to show on the TV and record what I want.

I can now preview and watch all the 12456 channels and the 12483 channels
Why is the TV Guide showing the time of the shows incorrectly such as TV3 News is showing for 10pm in the TV Guide when it is actually running at 6:00pm?
Is there a EPG offset to input for this to correct itself.
I noticed the programmes in the guide are not the same as what is actually on tonight?
Can you explain what is happening here?
For my next big question... To integrate recording from Sky with this setup what will I need to do?

Great to hear you've made some real progress. I can't think why you guide would be 4 hours out. I assume you are just getting th eguide data from the satellite not trying to import it with and xml file. Go to manual control and click refresh epg this will clear it out and grab it again, (it might take a while).
For sky you will need an analog card, to receiver the svideo output from your sky decoder and an infrared blaster so that mediaportal can change channels on the sky decoder. Something like a PVR-150. It's important that you get a card with a hardware mpeg2 encoder on it.

Media Portal TV Server will then control the PVR-150 card also.
So I gather Media Portal uses the infrared blaster to send an infrared blast to the SkyBox to change channels when it is time to record from the Sky box?

I found out why the tv guide timing was out. I had the machine set on Pacific USA time. I remember nopw when I set up the machine that I'd mucked that up but couldn't find where to change it. Right above the map in date time settings ... doh!
I started refeshing the TV Guide and it seems to take forever?
TV One & 2 had started filling but I'm waiting for the others.

yeah I doesn't like to be watched, best thing to do is go in to manual control on TV Server click refresh epg and leav it sitting at that screen until you see that it's not grabbing anymore then go into MP and see all your data.

I forked out for a 500GB SATA drive and reinstalled Windows and everything. I guess it took about one hour to get Media Portal going this time. Now I have plenty of disk space with Media Portal on E:\ with about 450GB to play with.
Moving on..
Just installed a Hauppage WinTV Tuner. I downloaded the drivers and install software and it runs fine alongside the SkyStar II Satellite card. I can view all Sky channels (that I pay for) on the PC using the WinTV software.
I now want to integrate this with Media Portal so one application drives both devices.
I started TV Server and it found the WinTV card as a third item under the satellite card.
I have the WinTV card showing as a second device under the TV Server folder.
When I scan for channels it goes through the whole SkyTV channel spectrum from 1 to 368, but nothing appears in the channel box below.
What do I need to do from here?
