Sounds like a SNAFU somewhere in the supply chain. Maybe the manufacturer has been focussing more on the Solo lately. The delay is a bugger though as it means I'll be without a unit from around the 7th. It was to have been a neat dove-tailing. Sigh.

Not I, yet.  Last I heard it was maybe still 1.5 weeks away.  Each days brings it closer though.

I've replied by email as I'm not sure on the rules about discussing suppliers openly.

Well, in this case, there's no shame involved, just a few issues in the supply chain, I think.  The retailer has been very responsive and has even supplied me with a STB to use in the interim until the Vu+ arrives.  I've no complaints at all.

But ... I'll have a search of the forum FAQ and see what the rules say before I start naming names.  I don't want to get myself banned.  If it's open slather, then I'll have a story to tell about an earlier incident!

If there's a moderator passing by, maybe you could comment on this.

Dont really know the rules on this forum, but it looks like satgear.co.nz is only selling satlink aka cordlessman supplied gear, so wont suprise me if he doesnt get them until cordlessman does

OK - according to the FUG, company names can, and indeed SHOULD be mentioned.

In which case, particularly since I'm happy with the service I've received so far, I can report that the company I've ordered my Vu+ through is Grey Electronics Direct.

The FUG does also say that defamatory posts can't be made however. That's a bit of a snag when it comes to being critical as anything written that diminishes a person's reputation is defamatory. It being the truth, or honest opinion doesn't change that, it just provides a defence if it goes to court. That's the way I read the law, but I'm no expert.
Anyone here who is?

Can you clarify your point please?
Is there another importer/distributor of the Vu+ besides Satlink in NZ?

here's a breadcrumb for those interested in the vu+duo

an excerpt from an email sent to me by someone with first hand experience .

"But I have had a play with one unit myself and pleased to say that these live up to all the hype in my opinion anyway.

I havent had much of a play but have successfully recorded 6 freeview channels at ounce. "

I'm hanging out for a NZ based review on this.  Currently I have MySky and a Popcorn Hour, it'd be nice to consolidate all of this into one box like the Vu+ Duo.

Oh god imagine if someone made a Tivo skin for the Vu Duo, it'd be like I'd died and gone to heaven :-)
