Hi Muzzholt, glad to see you have joined Geekzone. Welcome!

There have been issues reported about the prime listing, its appears to be a day light savings issue on Primes end, expect it to fix its self in due course.

Hi jeffhu

You do not need to use my program to dowload the epg with GB-PVR just enter the url
http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/freeview-web.xml.gz
into the epg box and it should work. let me know if this no longer works and can look at fixing my app.

Just a reminder that you can use the switch -xml "urlForEPG"
this will let you select a gzip epg from any website.

Seems to have stopped since Thursday/Friday last wwek

this is the error I'm getting:

Hi Shane

Are you wanting Freeview or Sky EPG data?

Sky has gone hostile and issues C&D letters to the users hosting the files.

Have a look at the threads in the HTPC forum.

There is an app by another user that grabs in the info from the freeview website if that is what you're after.; for sky have a look at xmltv.

When i get some time I may look at fixing the issues you note (the file has been removed) until then a reminder that you can use the switch -xml "urlForEPG" this will let you select a gzip epg from any website (there maybe some listed in the threads in the HTPC forum

Hi Mentalinc, I'm still not having much luck...

Not sure if I'm getting this right but here's what I've tried:

"C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\freeviewNZ-EPG.exe" -mediaportalTVServer -xml "http://nzepg.org/freeview.xml.gz"

not sure if I've got the syntax correct, ot if I'm getting it completely wrong... but I'm getting this error:

==============================

==============================

also tried this:

"C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\freeviewNZ-EPG.exe" -xml "http://nzepg.org/freeview.xml.gz"

and got this:

=================================

Checking for newer version

I have manually downloaded and checked the nzepg.org/freeview.xml.gz and seems to be fine

Any more pointers?

what version of media portal are you using? It appears my detection engine is not finding the install path.

Hi all

Thank you for using my application. With the recent legal action from Sky who have requested the people hosting the xml files cease and desist it makes my tool a lot hard to keep working.

Due to this and the amazing work being done by SJB and giggles I suggest people look at using the following tool (epg collector) which uses the broadcast data to create a xml file.
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=83&topicid=58935&page_no=1

I am going to hand over my code to them to use as they please. Hopefully the update notification and task scehduling.

Thanks for every ones support over the last 2 years. Wow can't beleive it's been that long.

You're welcome. It was a great tool when I first released it and it made my life easier thats for sure. Going forward with epgcollector it has made my application redundant as no Internet connection is required to keep getting EPG info.

Direct link to EPG collector for download. it appears freitsam is working on ablog post on marking it work. but it is almost double click and you're away.
