Lewk: I have also noticed these issues plus a new one we came across in the last few days is that with series recording we have got two recordings showing for one episode. Both went for around 36 minutes and stopped and then you have to go to the second recording to continue. This happened with two episodes of Manifest and I am sure that we didn't have any other programs scheduled to record at the same time..

If the two recordings are on the same channel and the second immediately followed ....
Try reducing your PVR settings start offset to1minute and the end offset to 3 minutes or less. That way the first recording should finish before the PVR decides it has to force it to finish in order to start the second recording.

Cheers
Skiwi

Anyone else having problems with TVNZ programs using Freeview on Demand and Chromecast?

If we start a program on Freeview on Demand it just says "Playback error". If we cast from the phone we see an error message like below (explains more than "Playback error"). If we use the TVNZ on Demand app then it plays just fine. Ping @DishTV...

You will have to sideload Netflix as I don't think they have certified the box yet (Why not? Why taking so long?)

Updated... This in particular is a significant improvement on what was happening before... Well done Dish TV!

No jumping or frames appearing after moving through content. No jumping/skipping after returning from time shifting to normal playback.

I tried sideloading Netflix but it won't run. Comes up with a message saying 'This device is not supported by the device'.

I sideloaded the Amazon Video app but its icon can only be found by using the sideload launcher. At least it runs but would be nice to have it visible when the apps are chosen.

Any ideas?

Is anyone getting messages about "we are restarting your device to improve system performance" often when waking the box out of sleep mode?

Makes a quick start device not so quick.

Only had that appear once since the latest firmware update (1.32) and was after a full system reboot

Yes, since updating in the last week I have seen this on several occasions. At first I thought nothing of it but now that it has happened more than a few times I am questioning if it's related to the update. It seems too coincidental. I also thought to post here so it's some comfort to know I'm not the only one.

I am getting the same problem, its a pain ever time you turn it on it has to do a reboot.  Also I can get no sound from the TV NZ on demand app.  Is any one else having the same problem, sound from other apps fine, this is since TV NZ did an update the other day.

Since my earlier post we have seen another three restarts when we have gone to turn the unit on with the remote. Something is amiss. I hope DishTV are watching this thread as something need to be patched.

I have sent DishTV an email regarding this.  They are also aware of the momentary freezes when watching TV on either UHF or Satellite and are working with the chipset providers for a fix. Netflix is still a no go at this stage...

Waiting for Netflix could end up like waiting for Godot.

Netflix insist on certifying every device/implementation separately.

And apparently they are notorious for taking their time, even when the chipset and OS have the correct DRM certificates.

Which may explain why Dish launched without Netflix.
