yes another, maybe something decent will be on it.  First on Freeview UHF but already have Shine on Satellite

Shines on UHF CH 25  in AKL but you need a non FV certified  TV to pick it up..

I am happy to see anything compete with Kenneth Copeland Ministries and the Destiny Church, which I always watch, and am happy to get a double dose with delayed TV3 coverage.
This Country needs more Channels like this to drive the Sinners back to the Pews where they belong!
Bless you!

I doubt I would ever watch it but after just moving FROM Australia late last year I've found that NZ lacks TV channels badly, the content is OK there just isn't much of it.  So any new channel is better than nothing, who knows.. there maybe something on it sometime thats better than infomercials to watch.  I didn't think I would ever see them on daytime TV until I moved here, they're usually on obsecure channels at 3am in Australia.  I cant believe they're getting rid of TVNZ7, soon there will be nothing at all on free tv.

yeah but Auckland is only one city in ALL of New Zealand.  Anyone in New Zealand with a Satellite freeview receiver can get Shine TV.   As you said available in Auckland with non FV UHF.  Well the rest of the country will now have a Christian TV whether by UHF or Satellite instead of satellite only.    There are people living south of Bombay hills

Well, they have a quote obviously the favorite repeated in red several places on their website: www.firstlight.org.nz

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)

On a related note, is it possible to delete or skip channels on an official freeview box? I can't figure out how to do this on the Homecast HT9200DTR.

On an unrelated note, I was wondering: does your user name derive from the tumour-suppressor?

Sounds like this new channel will be similar to Beacon. The few times I've channel changed past Beacon they are relaying programs off TBN and 3ABC. So why not waste Nelson's freeview bandwidth with a 3rd channel for religion...has we all leap for joy. So how long do you think this new channel will last?

KiwiNZ: Freeview is 'free view' they are entitled to create a channel, just as those who disagree with it are free not to watch it. If channels like
this are blocked, what next, Rugby channels, Cooking channels, Maori television?

This argument would be fine if Freeview had an unlimited number of channels. With Stratos we got eclectic SBS-on-the-cheap content and Aussie rules, and now we get delusional wish fulfilment. There isn't enough room for both.

Yeah, you can see the companies all lining up to provide more channels on freeview!

Sure, I might not be a fan of organised religion, but I'm not going to say that one religious channel is too many.
They are paying for the bandwidth, so what does it matter?
Stratos couldn't pay for the bandwidth, so closed down.

I can't imagine I'll watch it, but as long as they're paying full commercial rates and not getting any "charity" tax breaks or anything I don't have a problem with it.

Has anybody actually watched the channel?

If anybody had asked me five years ago:

Which TV channel do you think will completely redefine how ANZAC Day is covered and thereby completely change the way all channels approach ANZAC Day?

Well, my answer would not have been Maori TV, that's for sure.

Is it at all possible we give them a chance before we throw them to the lions?

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?
