DjShadow: Apparently the channel is already loading on DVB-T on channel 9 (if you can't see it, do a rescan and it should show) - the coming soon logo
Just tried scanning DVB-S and not found it


will check dvb-t now

yes video bitrate is h.264 max is 5100kbps stays aroynd 2900kbps audio max is 128kbps stays around 115kbps tho audio is aac so it still sounds good a low bitrate

if its insomnia etc but during the day I will be somewhat happy since there is little FM signal here to listen to when working.

Deev8: Of course no TV company can please all of the people all of the time, but from my point of view Mediaworks already have one channel that I rarely watch (C4), one channel that's useful about once per month (TV3 Plus1) and now they are introducing another that I may never watch.


I actually watch TV3+1 more than any other channel. Find it pretty convenient.

I don't really have any problem with TV3 Plus1, except that it would be even more useful in avoiding conflicts if it was TV3 Plus2. I should also add that it's a shame that TV3 Plus1 downscales any TV3 HD content.

It's showed up on DVB-T in Christchurch.

I've created this logo if anyone needs it, the styling came from a logo set I found here on Geekzone a year or so ago.

Edit: I tried uploading it but it converted it to JPEG which removed the transparency. Here's another attempt:

I think the audio on DVB-S version sounds noticably better to me than the DVB-T version.

dvb-t ausio is 128kbps max and it stays around 115kbps aac

and dvb-s is 192kbps mp2
