Nutts: The problem is Logitech hub does not have the Dish A2 in its data base as a Bluetooth device. So you have two options.
1. You can send the Dish A2 back to dish and request it have an IR receiver added.
2. Or you can tell the Logitech hub that the Dish A2 is a Nvidia Shield TV which uses a Bluetooth remote like the A2. You will have to pair the A2 to the Logitech hub to get this to work.

If you go back to the 9th and 10th of December in this forum it suggests telling the logitech hub the dish a2 is a Nvidia Shield TV and the next item is about the Bluetooth pairing.
Thanks to nzgman for working this out.

Thanks! These worked well but I'm frustrated about missing both the power toggle and the record button that the original remote obviously does have.

So I've been searching and experimenting all day with android tv devices in the Logitech database, such a slow interface and takes ages :(
A third good option (on top of the previously suggested Google Nexus and Nvidia Shield) is to add the Amazon Fire TV (also has bluetooth remote) in harmony hub and then link it up via the A2 android menu.

I just wish I could find a bluetooth remote device in Harmony database that has a record button!

I may investigate if you can request the bluetooth version of the A2's remote to be added by Harmony...

Question for Dish TV. Will there be an update so users of the on demand menu can find and access the new themed channels available and being promoted now by TVNZ?

An example being Gusto and I think there’s a new International film/movies channel.

If there’s a way I can access these that I am missing please let me know folks.

The lady of the house is asking me :-)

If you go to menu then apps you will see the TVNZ only on demand app is in there.
If you log on to that the new on demand channels are available.
Hope that helps.

Hi

I think I have a box with an IR receiver does has anybody got the A2 setup with samsung one remote, there is no S8300 code in the samsung database, tried most of the codes without any success.

Anyone got it working or any tips, the arrow buttons work without any set up on the samsung remote which is odd. It's a dealbreaker if we cannot use one remote as we did with Tivo.

I have not tried to get the Dish A2 working on the Samsung one remote.
But the Dish A2 uses an RF remote not IR remote unless it has been sent back to Dish to have the IR receiver added.
It seems that the A2 is a local development so it is not in the Harmony Hub remote or Samsung one remote databases and it can't be added by the user.
However the Dish A2 uses Android TV as its operating system and it would seem that most Tv's and set top box's that use Android TV as the operating system have the very similar remotes.
With the Harmony Hub remote it seems the Nvidia Shield TV is listed. This is also an Android Tv set top box. So setting Harmony Hub remote for a Nvidia Shield TV works quite well. There is no record button though. As this is rarely used it is not much of a problem.

So you could try telling your Samsung one remote that there is a Nvidia Shield TV and see if that works.
Remember that normally with RF or bluetooth remotes they have to be paired to the Dish A2 just as you would have to pair any Bluetooth device to a cell phone. Would be worth giving it a try.

If you go back to the 9th and 10th of December in this forum it suggests telling the logitech hub the dish a2 is a Nvidia Shield TV and the next item is about the Bluetooth pairing.
Thanks to nzgman for working this out.

Tried the shield tv and android but no joy on a Samsung tv doesn’t work. I have found a zte brand that works the arrow buttons but won’t work channel, menu Buttons etc so it’s half helpful.

Spoke to dish and it’s got the ir. Receiver and needs codes for s8300 as some mentioned on one of the earlier posts, have contacted Samsung but not holding my breath as the s8300 is not in the database.

If anybody has this working on a Samsung one remote for a tv feel free to post how you did it.

Has anyone noticed that if you connect via WiFi and change to Static instead of DHCP settings the box will intermittently report "Network has no Internet access"?

It will work, then suddenly one app will show no Internet access, then it will show this message on the top of the home page. But if you open another app it works fine, even streaming. Then a another app stops, repeat...

 "Network has no Internet access"?

Same problem, different circumstances. Mine is connected by Ethernet, and at one stage I also had WiFi configured. I would intermittently get this error message. I removed the WiFi configuration and it came right.

Hi, I have been using this Dish Tv A2 for around 6 months now, I’m in Sumner so Satellite Freeview, has been pretty good until a few weeks ago I couldn’t change channels to Prime TV. It showed up on TV guide but when cycling through the channels to 10 for Prime, it stayed on either 9 or 11. Turned off / on again, still couldn’t get Prime. So eventually did Satellite re-scan and Bingo Prime was back ! For about a week Grrrr ! This has happened 4 or 5 times now, approx once / week, Prime “drops out” , have to re-scan to get it back. All other channels work fine. Anyone else have this issue or anyone know what might be causing this ?

I haven't seen this specific problem but the program guide often disappears from Prime. If you have a program set to record it often doesn't and occasionally you can't set the recording up at all.

Other channels do work ok.

The Prime program guide on my Mecool K1 Pro  also won't let me set up the PVR on prime but will on any other channel so there is something different about Prime. Same thing happens on Prime +1 on the K1 Pro.

We only have satellite service available in Blenheim so don't know what would happen on UHF.

Any one know if there is a way to add Prime Plus 1 on the DishTV box?

Thanks.

Yesterday I bought one of these units for my elderly mother, replacing a much older Dish TV unit that had completely died.

She has an old (probably 12 years old) Samsung 26in TV, 1366x768 resolution, which worked fine with the old unit, and which also worked fine with a new $99 Dish TV box which she bought independently (we took that back because she wants a box which records without needing an external disk, and which can record two programs simultaneously).

Unfortunately the A2 will not communicate with her TV - it studiously says that there is "no signal". Can't even display a menu.

The A2 itself is fine; I brought it home, plugged it into my TV and it worked out of the box. I set the resolution down to 720p and took it back to her house but it still failed to display anything at all there.

She's using a UHF connection. The UHF lead is fine: plugged directly into the TV she has a good picture. The HDMI cable is fine: plugged into my laptop it displays a picture on the TV. So it's definitely a problem with the A2 not recognising the TV or the TV not recognising the A2. I have been hunting around trying to find any documentation on the requirements for a TV to work with the A2 but haven't found anything.

Has anyone got any useful advice? She's happy for me to buy her a newer TV but a 55" 4K UHD TV isn't going to fit in her lounge and is outside the budget I am prepared to spend.

Cheers
T

Yes often and there doesn't seem to be any reason what so ever, I have tried with that setting enabled and disabled and it still happens, all other devices work around it using the same wifi signal. We have 5 SmartVu's and a Superbox, this happens much more on the SmartVu's. I also have friends who complain of this issue.

I also get

- terrible bluetooth connection for headphones and earbuds, often it is so bad that no audio can be determined as it is so broken up (direct line of sight, no walls between signal and within 2m of both devices).

- TVNZ ondemand looses its login information, you have to keep going back to live TV and back into ondemand. Often the ondemand locks up when you select a TV show and I have to switch off the unit or go and watch something via an app (Netflix etc) which works fine on same device using same wifi.

I was getting the not connected to Wi-Fi error as well. We are just using dhcp but was on 5ghz. Have changed to 2.4 the and it has been fine since but it has only been a couple of weeks.
I got sick of having to do a power off restart all the time to get it to work well so now have it on a timer that restarts it once a week. It only gets used on the weekends and the timer is setup to turn it off then back on shortly before we use it on a Saturday.
My daughter also has an A2 and hers works well. No complaints. It is used every day.
Both my one and my daughter's one are connected to a terrestrial aerial not satellite.

Yeah I also get the Program Guide for Prime showing “no information” quite regularly.
