Is there a way (or plans) to load a resource monitor into the T2200 and view the log output?

If this is not a current feature, you may find this very helpful in sorting out where the bottlenecks really are.

You are doing a great job on this product, the environment is something you cannot control. I got into the T2200 because I could see it would allow me access content I could no longer access on my 2012 Samsung 'SmartTV'.

I like the idea of regular system updates; to cope with new ondemand offerings; especially if it is supported here in New Zealand.

A few other things that bug me about current functionality:

Time shift, I have it set to auto. If I am watching live TV then go to library and watch something recorded, then exit out after watching the recording, it jumps back to time shift recording. From there I can't go to EPG, I have to stop the time shift then go toEPG - and the whole EPG is still hit and miss if it works, the latest update has not done anything for that.

Sometimes we end up with a whole bunch of recordings, one program after another after another with the same date/time and all done by time shift. When you delete the first one, they all disappear. Is time shift supposed to actually save the recordings? If so, seems like a dumb idea.

We often get a program at the very bottom of the list of recorded programs that we can't delete (have made sure all recording and time shifting has stopped). Then maybe a few days later it can be deleted. Has happened quite regularly.

I've had a few instances where after deleting recordings, which is still painfully slow to do (and yes I delete from the series list - it can take 30 seconds to delete 4 shows), and then gone back to live TV, about a minute later I get another "recording successfully deleted" message on the screen which I can only get rid of by pushin exit button.

The whole interface still seems incredibly slow. More often than not there is a lag of a few seconds between a button press and anything actually happening (the receive led flashes on the T2200 as soon as a button is pushed so it's not the remote). I agree with others that it appears the hardware is underpowered or the code is very sloppy.

The confirmation dialogue boxes hang around for too long. For example every time we change channel, we get told time shift is happening for at least 5 seconds. Same for delete confirmation - way too long....

Clearly a lot of work to do yet to make the T2200 a satisfactory experience...

i agree with all of the above especially this:

Go to the library or Media Player and then back to TV and it will start from the beginning of the time shifted program, if you are not paying attention you may not realise it. and keep watching.

Aint nobody got tiiiime for that Jase , i turned off time shift a long time ago as i only watch recordings and it keeps the hdd constantly running. on the mtv3600 td i got double the life time from my drive as some others . it also taxes the heLL out of the processing . No wonder i am relatively immune to most of these issues if you lads are using time shift .

Switching it off helped for me, but didn't cure my problems (again pointing to a HW utilisation constraint). But like Jase I think it's not really the point, if a feature is there we should be able to use it without crippling the box.

Can you PM us some details Serian Number and recording properties which you can find by going to the Library> Options > Record Property, take a photo if needbe

Yes, the software has been reverted back to 1.23 while we work on improving the next version, thanks all for your feedback, and remember if you would like to help supply more details , screenshots data samples please get in touch with me via PM or email if you have it.

As a T2200 owner i have been following this forum for quite a while. You indicate your intention to resolve the major flaws with this device, but in reality have achieved nothing.

The patience of your customers is quite amazing considering how poorly the device performs as a PVR.

Why dont you be honest and admit that firmware will not fix the problems. The device is obviously not fit for purpose and should be re-marketed with the features that actually work.

Everyone should return their devices under the CGA until V2 of the hardware is released.

Thanks for the email and assistance with my T2200. While there are still some issues, it is a good thing that you are at least fronting up and listening to people and getting that feedback back to the developers. Hopefully we will see some progress soon.

Yes, a lot of customers who have seen this Geekzone thread have emailed through saying they have had no issues with the box and is running just fine with the small feedback which is minor for example the manuals. My own T2200 is having no issues at all so some of these reports from some customers could be linked to some faulty defect however that was wiped off the table when they send them through.

Those who only just have sluggish boxes should possibly check the batteries in their remote. It's such a small thing but potentially could make a huge difference to the experience.

We've just bought a second hand T1050 for the in-laws via TradeMe which I've been evaluating before I install it for them. They've recently canceled Sky and have opted for the Freeview/Netflix combo. I found the box to be pretty bad when I first got it going. Many remote buttons were pretty dicey and some just didn't get a response. Ran a meter across the supplied batteries which were shot, replaced with fresh ones and most of the dicey buttons came back to life and appeared to make the box much more perkier.

As the labels on a few buttons had worn off we were probably going to get a new remote for it so figured I had nothing to loose so last night prised the remote open, doused the circuit board in CO cleaner and it's now working 100% (if you squint to read what some of the buttons are).

Sure that particular box isn't a rocket ship and the hardware is made to a price but from what I saw their well spec'd MySky box wasn't all that responsive after Sky's new firmware update either.
