According to The Warehouse's website you can only record two channels at a time?

Record two channels at once with the Dual Satellite OR Dual Terrestrial Tuners

So far what a great box.  I have had it for 24 hours and after learning the funnies with it I find it is a great improvement over the T2200, recording is so much easier.  The menu is a lot faster and things happen with no lag.  The 4k output will be good once Netflix go on it, but You Tube looks good.

One thing to be aware off is that there is now no aerial pass through for the TV, so had to use a splitter, but if you have an older TV with not all the apps on it you would just use the A2.

Remote is Bluetooth so my old My Harmony will not work with it (Wife not happy as she will have to learn a new remote).

So far am really impressed with it.

I got one of the new A2 boxes in the weekend and have been having issues with audio dropouts with external audio via a Philips soundbar.

The issue is that randomly when watching the freeview channels the sound will dropout for approx 1 sec. The sound drop out isn't glitchy or distortion just muted

and resumes perfectly in sync every time and there is no disturbance to the picture.

I have the A2 connected via HDMI directly to my LG OLED 2017. The LG is connected via HDMI-ARC to a Philips soundbar. The same issue happens with the LG connected via Toslink optical.

I have had zero issues with any other HDMI device connected in the same way.

Watching Youtube videos via the A2 doesn't have the issue.

It appears the problem is limited to watching freeview live TV via the Freeview application.  The UHF connected directly into the LG Antenna input and watching via the inbuilt DTV application is fine as well.

I've played with every setting on both the TV and the A2 and the problem persists.

I'm currently dealing with DishTV support on this issue and will update here if anything conclusive is found.

Android TV on NVidia shield and Sony TV's have also had audio dropout issues that were fixed by updates from the respective vendors.

Can anyone else with this box try using external audio via either a HT Receiver or Soundbar?

It seems to be a great box but this LiveTV problem is a show stopper, its so annoying that we can't watch TV through it and have reverted back to Antenna.

Dish TV's website also says the same.

'The Dish TV Super Box is a Freeview Certified Recorder for use with UHF Aerial OR Satellite Dish'

'Record four channels at once with the Quad Satellite Tuners OR record two channels at once with the Dual Terrestrial Tuners.’

Particularly note the fine print:

'Channel selection is limited when recording two channels at the same time via Terrestrial (UHF Aerial), some channel combinations may not be available’.

Really? If so, this device is seriously flawed.

How many transponders are there now on the freeview DBV-T muxes?  If there are 3, then this is why you won't be able to record and watch certain combinations while recording an additional stream.

Then yep with only 2 tuners you'll struggle to record more than 1 stream regularly I suspect if you watch all the channels on Freeview.

I'm thinking of getting one of these. I assume I can plug in a usb remote keyboard and install Kodi like other Android boxes?

Can anyone confirm?

I can test the USB one later but a Bluetooth keyboard works for sure.

Well I have ordered one from Harvey Norman. Under $400 delivered. (Boxing Day Sale).

My original MTV3700 is acting up. So it will behave now according to Murphy, as it is about to be replaced!

Will see how the new one is when it arrives and is going.

I have a problem in that it will only playback 3/4 of a recorded programme after which the playback stops. You can go back to the main menu and fast forward to the place it stopped and it stops again with a black screen. I will probably be returning the box and asking for my money back.

So no Netflix, I guess Amazon Prime Video international edition is missing too?

The theory with Android TV is one app gets published for the platform and everyone can use it whether they're on stock, Sony, etc. Shame it doesn't actually work that way. And then you have Xiaomi opening a flagship store in NZ but not bothering to configure a Mi Box for this country

You are not alone with this as it has happened to us as well.  The other thing is it gets to that point and then jumps forward to the next programme with the black gap there. A software problem but whos, ???

A question about concurrent recordings and programme overlap with terrestrial antenna feed.

Does the recorder automatically give preference to recording channels by switching the live TV channel?

Does it support recording two programmes in sequence on one channel with (say) 5 minutes overlap while recording a programme on another channel and a different mux at the same time?

For example, suppose I was previously watching Prime (Channel 10) on live TV from the Dish A2.

I have programmed the following recordings:
- One News at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm plus 5 minutes overrun (Channel 1)
- Newshub at 6:00 om to 7:00 pm plus 5 minutes overrun (Channel 3)
- Seven Sharp at 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm plus 5 minutes overrun (Channel 1).

Will the recorder automatically change the tuners from Channel 10 to Channel 1 and Channel 3 at 6:00 pm?

Will it allow those three concurrent programme recordings on two channels?

My 7-year-old MagicTV MTV3700TD does these things, but I'm looking to replace it with something more modern. It seems from reports on Geekzone that the Panasonics all fail this requirement. I cannot find anything else!

Thanks for any advice!
