Has anyone else noticed you have to login again to Freeview OnDemand when you reboot the box, every time?

Because as history has shown:

That is the way DishTV seem to work!

Why pay to test it - when you can get results here for free!

The Dish TV Facebook page have advised that you can only use either Terrestrial or Satellite - not both at the same time (you need to select one and it requires a re-scan to switch).

This raises the importance - can the device record 2 programs off the same mux?

Could someone with the device please try recording TV1 and Prime, then try watching TV2 live (and also try recording this as well please). Would appreciate the answer as HN has the box for $388 ending tomorrow.

Many thanks

John

I can record TV One and Prime, while watching TV2. I cannot record a third programme as a box pops up saying "You can only record two shows at the same time"

How many have tried to watch their recordings?
I record TV1 news every night. I have done this 4 times on the A2 box and every time when playing back the recording has stopped at about the 45 minute mark and I haven't been able to watch the remainder of the recording even though it says the total recording length is over an hour.
I have returned the box to HN and got a refund.

Was it just the one program that was affected - or is the news the only 45min+ program you recorded. This is a deal breaker if correct.

@Freitasm - are you able to repeat the test you did with 2 programs recording and watch a third then try and play back the recordings...just want to see if there is an issue with recording 2 programs off the same mux.

Kind regards

The News was the only 45m + programme I recorded, but if it can't do that it's not much use to me. It wasn't just one recording, this happened 4 nights in a row. SWMBO was not impressed. I'll just go back to my panny DMR-BWT700 and put up with the random recordings on +1.

2 users complaining of issues at 45 min.

Can anyone advise if they have been able to play a full 60+ min show? Just checking if this is a widespread issue.

Kind regards

John

Hello all...

Dish TV have responded to a message I sent them (good on them for replying on a Sunday), with the following reply

Me - Some users are complaining that 60 min recordings will not play after 45 min. Is this a known issue and has it been resolved yet?

Dish TV NZ - Hi, Yes this is a known issue and will be resolved with new software update in next week. Thanks

I thank them for replying, but not good that there appears to be a major issue that has not been advised. I have invited them to reply on this forum. It would be good for them to interact with this forum since it does have a lot of "early adopters".

Lets see if they do become active.

John

Hello all,

We have released a software update for the Superbox A2 this morning which corrects the 45minute playback issue and other bugs. Any previously recorded content should now play correctly to completion.

This is being released as an automatic update so your receiver will download and install this update when it next checks for updates. You can force the unit to check from the About -> System Update menu in the Android settings menu.

This release is version 0118

Just set mine up "out of the box"

Went to About / Update Firmware...

...and true to form for a DishTV product it's updating to...

Version 116!

(You guessed it! NO sign of 118!)

Updates can take some time to flow through Google's OTA system. Please try again in an hour or two.
