I have the Panasonic DMR-PWT530 and am also wondering if it is going to get an update for the Hbbtv. Need to keep an eye out.

http://test-mwhbbtv.fvpnz.co.nz/main.html If I load this up in the FireTV Firefox plugin I can see a good amount of info from TV3Now. Show lists, Genres, etc. No guide data is available or playback enabled for my device though.

http://tvnzhbbtv.fvpnz.co.nz/main.html Shows an OnDemand login screen but does nothing when I try and login.

AIT is live in 3 out of 4 transport streams here. Not yet live in the World TV transport stream

What is the PID of the stream in the DVB mux?

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

Found it. I can only see the MHP PID on TVNZ and Mediaworks multiplexes
- PID 8002 on TVNZ
- PID 8000 on Mediaworks

openmedia: Found it. I can only see the MHP PID on TVNZ and Mediaworks multiplexes
- PID 8002 on TVNZ
- PID 8000 on Mediaworks

Wharite has the AIT in the same PID (8000) for TVNZ, MediaWorks and Kordia transport streams. Still no AIT in the World TV transport stream (...and not in the Igloo stream either, though I don't really expect it to turn up there).

I've checked the manual and no mention, but then Panasonic's entire NZ site has no mention of Freeview Plus or HbbTV anywhere on it, including the in-depth specs pages. My model is DMR-BWT840, which is supposed to be their top-end model (or it was when I bought it a month or so back). Interestingly an online search says that BWT740 (which appears to be the exact same machine selling under a different code in Australia) has it, as does the cheaper XW440. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Panasonic pushed out an update to those models in Australia when they got Freeview plus, per this article: http://www.cnet.com/au/news/panasonic-brings-hbbtv-to-blu-ray-and-dvd-recorders/ Maybe we'll get the same here in NZ when the time comes.

i'm not holding my breath... still don't have Netflix app on my panny - and the app exists already :/

No, it's not on the aforementioned new Blu-Ray yet either (or it wasn't when I checked about a week ago). That's why I have bought myself a little Minix Neo Windows box to watch the on demand sites. I fear I may be waiting a mighty long time for HbbTV, if my model gets it at all. I'd rather shell out $200 for a mini PC than $2000 for a new telly!

I have the same unit , I checked on the Aussie Pana site and they have not released firmware updates for HIBB support on that model but have for others . I think Freeview Plus is much the same over there so maybe the PWT530 isn't compatible .

I too will be interested to see if there is an update for the Panny BWT840

My logic is to see what happens when Freeview plus goes live and see if a firmware update is offered...

I hope it is - there is a network cable in the back of my unit and im set to go....

Yeah, given that I don't hold out much hope. The NZ Pana site doesn't list the 530 anymore - It has been replaced with the 550 - which you can’t buy anywhere yet. The Aussie 550 comes with hbbtv, it seems.

AIT is live in the World TV transport stream now too. It's carried on PID 8000; same as the other transport streams.

So far the MediaWorks application seems to be the most functional, but perhaps that's because I'm using Firefox rather than a proper HbbTV capable device.

Seems like an odd poll. I am wondering what percentage of people watch content on their smartphones, pc's and stream to their TV via laptops and other devices.

I would of thought that people are moving to downloaded and streaming services. I would of thought that much more than 10% of people in NZ are using those services.
