Just noticed tonight that I can no longer receive the Aussie channels with the exception of SBS. Anyone else have the same issue?

I asked before how to get rid of the info box at top right of screen when watching media from external drive. I found the answer. Updated firmware to 1.35
Mine came with 1.30

Hardware version of mine is 2.1

As I use this more, there are more things I like about it plus dislike.

I wish it had 7 day esg guide and that you can set to record from it.
Copy recorded program to external drive.

Hi

I just bnought this unit a couple of days ago and am trying to get it to play mkv or divx files from a USB drive - it gives me an error "operation not allowed. old content overwritten by live". Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

I havent had any problems with mine. I went to menu and connectivity and chose usb and then just highlighted the file clicked okay and away it went.

The info stayed in top right corner. My firmware was 1,30 and I upgraded it to 1.35 and that fixed that problem. I found it plays most fine but any that have audio as mp3 there is no sound.

my hardware version is 2 and chip is 4.1.

Thanks for your answer.

Hmmmm not sure what the problem is. I have firmware 1.35, chip 4.1 and hardware 2.1, so it should be ok.
I get the USB folder and can see the files - but nothing happens when I select them, although it appears as though it is trying to play them. And then when I exit I briefly get that message about old content being overwritten by live.

I'll post a fix if I figure it out.

Well it seems like it is a bit picky which divx and mkv files it likes to play, as I got it to work with some other files. Not sure what the reasons for this might be.

A real shame about no sound for divx with mp3 audio as most of my divx have this.

The HDTV mkv file I got it to play looked stunning but then it started to lose frames and stutter a bit after a minute or so...

yeah it is a shame as most of my divx are mp3 sound. Good picture no sound. Hoping a future firmware update will remedy that

Has anyone had a recording problems on Shine TV?

1) Programme starts on time, but fails to stop at programme end. I have to stop it manually. This is not on all programmes.
2) With 'series link' feature some programmes record every time they are broadcast?
Dish say use the wakeup timer function, but this defeats the purpose of the series link feature.

Has anyone else had anything similar to these two problems

That sounds a bit strange but if its only happening on shine(not worth recording :P) it doesn't sound like it would be a fault with the decoder but with the transmission or something else.

I have an issue with my mother's one that I bought for her a few weeks back and that is when you do series link and it's only happened, so far, with Body Of Proof that for the next weeks episode the booking entry says "Awaiting".

Last time this happened I re-booked it but has anyone else had this happen with other series linked programmes and if so, will it rectify itself before the next screening or will I need to re-book the programme every time?

I have been in touch with Shine and Freeview, and both say that the information provided for the EPG is correct, and the fault is in the Dish s7090PVR not readind the EPG correctly; but Dish deny this, so I'm at a bit of a standoff. Any Ideas ??????

no problem on mine. I can series link with tvone and tv3 and they DONT record on the plus 1 channels. Not sure if thats what you meant recording everytime

I have only recorded movies on Shine where some are repeated but no problem yet. Might try fairgo and see what happens
