There is a setting for Magic TV to spin down the system HDD when it is idle for several minutes.
(By the way, for reliability I actually prefer the HDD to spin constantly rather than spin up/down as needed.

Is it only in new firmware or the 3700?
wklie: Since MediaWorks changed its broadcast about a week ago, I suspect the "self-reboot right after waking up from standby" issue may disappear.
In case anybody still experiences this issue, here's another beta firmware to try out (for those users ONLY):

MurrayM: So this issue was caused by a broadcast problem? Just for interests sake, can you give us some more details?
PimpMyMagic: I was never bothered with this particular problem.
I'm running 3.17NZ.
Was it confined to people in regions beyond Auckland?
SCUBADOO: I can confirm the c80% reboot symptom reported by me on 07 Nov has apparently automagically been self fixed within the last 10 days or so.
PimpMyMagic: I've been trying to initialize a 2TB WD Green drive with advanced Sector format to work with my MTV3600.
So far I haven't had any success. I tried using DD to clone the first partition from my 3600's Hitachi 500GB drive to my new drive but it kept failing to complete, with a read error from the 500GB drive.
