Can you record from the Freeview Plus Menu?
Is there anyway to view recordings alphabetically?
Is there anyway to change the look of the recorded list?
Any update to the black screen issues?
I turned freeview plus off in the options 2 weeks ago and it has not done it since.

My wife tells me the unit updated itself to v1.02 today.
Found it on Panasonic's Site: http://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/dvd/download/hwt260/gl.html
Looks like a useless update - at least there is no mention of bugfixes.
I would not hold out much hope for getting this issue resolved. I had a very aggressive, accusative phone call from a gentleman from Panasonic yesterday who would not listen to my side of the story or the advice I had received from a very reputable Freeview installer. The end result is I have surrendered my unit and arranging a refund. After a long history of buying Panasonic equipment I will never buy from them again.

Well, it does mention "timer recordings" and "Freeview Plus" in the description, and from reports here both of those things seem to be implicated...?
I suppose we'll know soon enough when we install it – the black screens have been happening fairly frequently for me. The last ones I logged were on TV1 (Masterchef) on 18th of November, at 8.40pm, a cluster of 10 or more.
From my point of view nothing could make that show much more irritating, but my partner likes it, and so she was getting annoyed and asking "why does this keep happening?"
It's a good question! Let's hope the firmware update helps.

Really sorry to hear that Mike. I'm sure we can all relate to being in that situation – getting that stonewall treatment in defiance of facts and logic, and it's not pleasant at all.
Whether the fault lies with Panasonic – or the our local Freeview platform not adhering to HbbTV standards – it surely does not lie with us, the end user.
One thing is for sure, there's a limited window of opportunity to get fixes before a new model rolls around, and if nothing positive happens soon then I'm sure there'll be more than a few of us joining you in returning the hardware for a refund.

This is very disappointing - do you know who it was?

If this was the case I would be taking a complaint to head office.

Yes I do but I don't believe I should name the gentleman here.
The gentleman in question mentioned the threads on GZ and said that the people here that he had been dealing with did not do anything he requested. An interesting observation given that I had done everything. I guess he can believe what he wishes.
I recently purchased a DMR-HWT260 from Harvey Norman. It was a good price, though I ended up with a returned unit that looked like it had been used for a week but wouldn't set up properly until I reset it to factory settings.
I've been thinking about returning it but have decided to keep it as there isn't much else out there, that I can see. The basic freeview recording interface isn't as good as my old Magic TV 3600 and really doesn't handle overlapping recordings on the same channel very well, even though the overlapping is purely because of the recording buffer, which is a feature of the box. Various recording features are scattered and the FreeviewPlus screens aren't properly aligned or scaled. Multiple other minor irritations but there are enough redeeming features that just about cancel out the negatives which I'll probably just get used to in time.
We have seen the brief blanking of the screen but it's mercifully brief and only on live TV (the blanking doesn't get recorded) which we don't use much.
Is there anyone who owns one of these who hasn't experienced the blank screen issue?

Me, I can't say I've ever noticed it. I rarely watch live though as use TV tuner for that.
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Not sure I understand that comment as the DMR-HWT260 has a turner (two, in fact). So I also use a tuner for live TV (and for recording Freeview). Do you mean you have a separate Freeview tuner for live TV?
