I've done it using the built in cut editor, and it does work OK. If you want to make the cuts permanent there's a plugin you can install that makes a new copy of the edited recording - can't remember what it's called, but can look it up if you need to know.

One problem I had was that I couldn't figure out how to remove cuts once made, although I think it's possible, as I think I fluked it a couple of times while trying random button presses on the remote. I then found the easiest way - hop on the PC and browse to the folder and remove the .cuts file from the offending recoding and hey presto - cuts are gone and you can start again.

I found this quite useful for Comm Games highlights, where there were several segments I wanted out of hours and hours of recording.

What happens if you select the edited file and press the "Menu" button? Do you get a "Delete cuts" option maybe?

I would have thought so, but couldn't find one. I think you have to highlight them on the cut list and then hit a magic button or something to delete them individually. I know I tried for a while and then gave up and deleted the .cuts file, but when fiddling around again later I'm sure I made a few disappear somehow.

How are you getting on with your Vu+Duo by the way? I'm certainly enjoying mine. I'm in the process of trying to find a terrestrial (DVB-T) equivalent that I can get for my parents for FreeView etc. but there doesn't appear to be a lot of options. So many PVRs have limited disk space and no way to get the recordings off - anyone out there have suggestions? Best option at the moment seems to be a Vantage hd 6000t, but there's very little info about :-(

It's marvellous.  Just recorded five things simultaneously!  I've had maybe a couple of "odd" events, and a few minor annoyances with "rewinding" files, but otherwise it's just doing what it says on the box!

Oh - P.S.
How about just putting a USB DVB-T tuner  on a Vu+?  There is support for this with some images, and Peter, the importer, told me something was in the pipeline.

Well I would like to say that I got my Vu Duo but there is no luck now as I have been scammed and can't afford another one.

If you are thinking of buying beware.
