sarahfoxnz:
I gave my Tivo away.
I'm computer-programing minded - but not technically minded to fix/repair the tivo.
Can you get it back again ?
You don't need to be tech minded.
You send it off and the modding is done for you and it comes back like tivo was before,
all you do is connect it and turn it on and tivo is back.
I just felt like we should not give prospective TIVO users overly high expectations. a) it is not quite that easy (almost) and b) as the TV guide data is now generated by volunteers, it is not perfect.
I had some trouble with a modded TIVO, so asked on a forum and got the following reply:
Season Passes
When setting season passes, you need to retain what has always been the default setting of "First Runs and Reruns". If you modify your season passes to "First Runs only" nothing gets recorded. This may change in future.
The NZ guide data has been pretty good. There are some channels that seem to have a whole lot of nothing out beyond 3-4 days, but, mostly they pick it up before they need to record. The biggest hassle is trying to record a short series of one-off movies when you can't set the next week to record sometimes because the data doesn't go out that far.
You don't need to delete your old season passes, but they won't work due to differences in the codes used by the underlying guide data. It's a good idea to delete them though, as you'll then be able to keep track of what you have chosen to record.
Channel Scan
The following Channel Scan process is also worth doing to tidy up channels including Maori (5) and Te-Reo(15) so that you get the correct data.
Guide Data:
Remember, this is a volunteer driven effort with no guarantees.
In NZ, you will only get up to 7 days guide data, unless the current sources for the guide change in the future. I think you'll find all Freeview boxes that get their guide data over the air are also limited to 7 days.
The Aussies are only getting 3x days of EPG guide data. They have so many regions and channels, that NZ is a walk in the park by comparison.
I think I speak for most people in that the guide has mostly been pretty good so far (09/02/2018). If you have any concerns about specifics, please feel free to PM me, and I'll pass these onto the developers handling the NZ guide.
Personally, I do notice some incorrect guide data, e.g. The TV series "Young Sheldon" being listed a on-off, so no season pass options, and then a movie "Maze Runner" being listed as a season, so had season pass options. And "Find Programs" by Movie, all types incorrectly lists a lot of TV series.

Is anyone else experiencing an issue where there's no audio for the Freeview Plus apps?
Make sure that Audio Output is set to PCM.
If the output is set to AC3 (for Dolby Digital sound) then the T2200 will switch to PCM automatically for broadcast channels that only have PCM sound, but for some reason (bug?) this does happen for the FreeviewPlus apps.
Perfect! That worked. Thanks!
@dishtv is this a known bug?
I have just tested this and have been able to replicate the issue, i will forward the information to our software team hopefully they can shed some light on what can be done regarding this. For Now the audio can be set to "AUTO" or "PCM" as mentioned which will give you audio on On-demand content for the time being.
Hi @dishtv
I apology for being lazy and asking rather than testing myself. (although I haven't had any firmware updates come down)
Is there any update on this bug and its fix please?
Thanks,
Phil.

We are currently testing software for this issue and hope to have a release version as soon as possible, I will check with the software team and see if we can provide test software for those willing to try it in the mean time.
Dish TV Technologies Ltd
Today I went to watch something on tvnz on demand through my Dishtv/T2200 and cannot get it. It says the Webpage is not available and it is Error 52: Server returned nothing (No headers, no data) and gave suggestions such as :
I have done the last 2 points and everything is ok, and still have the Error 52 message, but I tried to reload the webpage and I can highlight it by using arrow keys on remote but nothing happens, when highlighted I press ok and still nothing happens.
Is anybody else experiencing this problem? Last week I had no problems watching tv on demand. So when I press apps on remote control all I get now is the Error 52 message.
Thanks Steve66. I will unplug the dishtv and let it sit for awhile and then replug and see what happens.
I also had my tivos modded and all are going good for me. I bought the dishtv before I knew about the tivos could get modded. I was hesitant to buy the dishtv at the time because in a few months time they were bringing out a later model in the first part of 2018, but went ahead as I would have had nothing to record my programs at that time as I hate watching live tv.
It was such a pleasure it had the apps for watching tv on demand which I use a lot now. It's just unfortunate we can't get the tv on demand apps on our tivo units. Both the tivos and the dishtv I use quite regular now. It was just a pity they didn't have the latest dishtv model at the time when I needed it.
i can get to the ondemnd apps by pressing the red button the bring the on screen mini guide then pressing the green button to show ondemand apps, then open TVNZ or 3 or Maori TV.
pressing the apps button doesn't work brings up the same error you described.
I bought a Harmony 650 remote ad I've never looked back since then. I don't use the tivo or dishtv remote anymore.
The harmony remote has replaced 5 remotes now and that's all I use :)

Thanks Jase2985. I had tried the unplugged and then replugged option but still have the Error 52, so did what you do to get to the tv ondemand apps. Worked brilliantly but it is a long winded way of getting to the apps, just don't understand why pressing the apps button on the remote control doesn't work anymore which would take one directly to where the apps are. It worked just a week or so back so I reckon dishtv people have done something for it not to work. Hope they fix it soon as it makes the app button on the remote control redundant.
i think the issue is on their end as in you need to connect to their server to get some information to the app page.
