Just upgraded to the DMR-XW390 and am liking it EXCEPT that when you select a program from the guide on a +1 channel it decides it will record it from the non-time shifted channel, which means if your wanting to record something on TV1, TV2 and TV3+1 it will try to record TV1, TV2 and TV3 and inform you you have a clash!!
Anybody know if there is any way around this?

Welcome to the 'Curse of the Panasonics'.  You'll also find any recording that fails to start, will start on +1 an hour later causing chaos with any event scheduled there. There's massive problems with the +1 channels and quite a bit of discussion here previously.  Some say it's a bug with Panasonics, and Panasonic told me it's a 'feature' of the EPG.

Hopefully enough people will get so fed up with it, whatever it is will be rectified.

Cheers - Kirk

The Magic TV does the same thing. The different replays have the same ID so it will go for the first available playback by default.
which means if your wanting to record something on TV1, TV2 and TV3+1 it will try to record TV1, TV2 and TV3 and inform you you have a clash!!

If you're recording from 7:00 to 8:00 on TV1 and TV2, and press the red button for TV3+1 for 8:00 to 9:00 there would still be a clash whether it recorded from TV3 or TV3+1 because of the time extensions - the few minutes before or after a programme starts and ends means it'd be trying to record three things at once around 8:00 even if it recorded from TV3+1. It can't record from three channels at once.

What the recorder should be able to do is allow you to set recording priorities. Can it do that? With the Magic TV, it'd tell you there was a conflict and let you set the TV3 / TV3+1 recording as a lower priority so that it'd automatically start recording from TV3+1 once one of the other two recordings had been stopped.

Hopefully enough people will get so fed up with it, whatever it is will be rectified.

Those people are using MySky! ;)
